Summary: I Loved It!
Review: The Stand is a haunting book that dares to defy man's normal view of the end of the world. I have read several of Kings books and loved everyone, however this one is more than just a scary tale. Its a chilling vision that deals with the human monster, and how it is just as deadly as anything that lurks in dark corners.

Summary: Definitely King's Best
Review: I read the uncut version for the first time during a trip to Las Vegas, fittingly enough. It is King's best novel. I read the original in the early 80's, and I think the additional material enriches the novel, especially during the first third as the world sputters to an end. A good book for non-King fans to read.

Summary: A very detailed and compelling story.
Review: I think this is one of the best books I have ever read. I really enjoy the story of how everything came together. I loved learning about everyones past and what happened to them along the way. The only thing I did not like about it was that it had to end. I would love a continuing story into the lives of Frannie and Stu, and everyone elses.

Summary: one of the best i have ever read
Review: although it has been many years since i read "The Stand" it remains to this day, one of the best I have ever read. If you are currently involved in the "Dark Tower" series, a reference is made to Randall Flagg in "Wizard & Glass", thought you might like to know. DAVE SMITH

Summary: Without a doubt, The Stand is the very best book I've read.
Review: I have read every novel, novella, screenplay and short story that King has ever written, and while I have enjoyed them all, The Stand, especially in its uncut version, is the most wonderful of them all. The characters are so real, you can "see" them in your minds eye. The storyline grabs you from page one and doesn't let you go to page 1300+. You will consider everything else in your life an intrusion until you finish this book!!! And, you will read it over and over again - I think I've read it twenty times! I would love a sequel Mr. King, if you are reading this!!! But, if not, thanks for the greatest book I have ever read. P.S. The Dark Tower series is becoming my newest addiction.

Summary: Stories within Stories
Review: I liked the individual stories, but the novel as a whole hasn't very exciting. Generally, a OK read. I liked the TV series better.

Summary: Ho Hum
Review: I've heard of Stephen King for years but I never read any of his books because Horror books are not my cup of tea. But when I discovered he had written a book dealing with surviving after the population of earth had been reduced by almost 98 percent, I knew I had to read it. But first I read the reviews on Amazon.Com and found it appears a large number of readers loved it and an almost even number of readers hated it. I decided I would read it and make up my own mind. Had I not read the reviews I would have quit reading it around chapter 3. But I FORCED myself to finish the book. Boring boring boring. I am presently reading Swan Song and hope it deals with the subject better than King. Very disapointed.

Summary: A masterpiece, from cover to cover.
Review: If I hadn't read King's ever continuing "Dark Tower" series, I would certainly have said this is his best work, but.. I can't find it in me to say it's better. Anyway, displayed here is the most wonderful blend of characters ever created. From deep inside the evil heart of Randall Flagg, to inside the mind of Tom Cullen, you have to love it! King puts a fantastic cast of characters in an age old storyline - good vs. evil. Please don't let the size scare you, once you get into it you don't want it to ever end! One wise man once said - "You don't read The Stand, YOU CONQUER IT." And that's what you should do.

Summary: "The Best King Book You'll Ever Read"
Review: "The Stand Complete and Uncut" is an absolute masterpiece. Do not let its length scare you. You can leave that up to the contents of the novel. I would suggest investing large amounts of time into reading this novel. Prediction: You will look back at this book and know that it is the best book that you will ever read. I could be wrong...but I doubt it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Awesome. Best King book out there
Review: I've read just about all of King's books, but this one was ahead of it's time. Possibly one of the greatest books ever written.
