Summary: A great book!
Review: Even though it is pretty long, I thought that it was a really good book. I really enjoyed it because of the fact that it had to deal with the end of the human race, which could happen at any moment. If you like any other Stephen King books I would definately recommend this one.

Summary: This book struck a serious nerve in me.
Review: Let me repeat myself. This book struck a serious nerve in me. I think that what made this book so scary is that not only could it really happen but it tackles the fear of being alone in a huge void while trying to escape from the boogeyman. You can't get any deeper than that. Being tempted by Satan's helper Randall Flagg while being threatened with crucifixion for refusing to join him what could be more frightening than that especially if you have no one to turn to since everyone is dead. And the only real protagonist was a sickly 108 year-old woman who died halfway through the book. You see in America we all have dreams of what we are going to be like in the social world of tomorrow. The characters in the book had no tomorrow since everyone was dead.

Summary: Most fantastic book EVER!!
Review: This is the best book I have ever read, and it's the only one that has actually made me cry. I don't understand why they cut it in the first place; the extra pages serve only to enhance the storyline. The characters are all believable, and I want to know what has happened to the surviving survivors!! A sequel please!!

Summary: The ultimate struggle between good and evil.
Review: Stephen King has really done it, he has written the ultimate book. Nothing can go so deep into the subject of the good and evil showdown as The Stand does. A fiersome killer-plague dicimates the entire worlds population. Only random individuals survive. They gather into groups, and led by dreams, they form two societies; the good one around the old woman Mother Abagail, and the evil one dictated by Satans handyman: Randall Flagg. This escalates into perhaps the most exciting and binding story I've ever read. I love this piece of work, and I hope you'll too. Orwell

Summary: 1200 Pages in 2 hours...Well, it will feel like it.
Review: Never has a book gone by so fast. King develops brilliant characters, most the sole survivors in their towns. The characters each have their own stories for a long while, each exciting novellas of their own. He has your excitment to a peak and then ends the chapter and goes back to another character he had left and does the same there. He ends up having you getting so into one character you forget the others and then he brings you back to them with an excitment that can best be described as that of opening a present on Chrismas morning...when you were 9. You become so involved that it hits you like a hammer when they meet up and you get excited about how they will get along. Yes, it is that good. No lack of character development here. Also, he starts in the world of today, and through a series of fully likely happenings comes to 6 billion people dieing in mere months. The story is wonderful. The characters are wonderful. It's a pure joy to read. Oh, and if you are frightened by the length of the book, don't be. I read the uncut hardback and loved it. And I'm only 14.

Summary: A book you must read, come plague or pure evil
Review: When i first picked up The Stand I thought it would be boring, but from the very first chapter I was hooked. I would recommend this book to anyone who can read. It may not be right for people with weak stomachs however, as Stephen King's amazing descriptive writing brings everything to life.

Summary: Stephen King's Best
Review: This was the best book I have read from Stephen King. The uncut version added so much to the storyline, and I was somewhat puzzled that so much was cut out from the original version of this book.
