Rating: Summary: It's not all about the sex... Review: There is so much more to these books. The "beauty" of Anne Rice's writing comes out in such brilliant form here. She explores underlying, basic human instincts and desires, along with all the emotions surrounding them. Yes, the sex is graphic and explicit, so if that bothers you then don't read them. But the story wouldn't work any other way. She brings you right along with Beauty into another world, and you can't help but be drawn in by the tempting surrealism. A great escape, in my opinion. I highly recommmend this trilogy to any true Anne Rice fan, or just for those who enjoy good erotic fiction (this would probably fall into the S&M/Bondage genre). If you like it, you'll really like it. Set aside a long, quiet evening and you'll be through all three books before you know it, with a smile on your face, thanks to Ms. Rice.
Rating: Summary: Rereleased, still a classic Review: With the number of Anne Rice fans increasing, it makes sense that the novels written under her pseudonym be released to the public that knows her vampire chronicles so well. While partially a fairytale, this trio of novels about beauty are erotic fiction with the passion that Rice creates in her vampires -- only in this series with regard to beauty. Bondage, whipping and the feel of the passion between a man and a woman is thoroughly engrossing in this trio. Don't expect the mystery of the vampire series. Expect instead the mental passion that you feel when Lestat finds and seizes his victims.
Rating: Summary: Three D/s stories that really rock! Review: Set in medieval times, this trilogy follows several young 'slaves', primarily the princess Beauty, as they're trained as sexual submissives. Perhaps only devotees of BDSM will enjoy these books. But on the other hand, the cerebral aspects of why some of us find domination and submission pleasurable - even addictive - are also included, and are as well-written as the explicit scenes.
Rating: Summary: Breathless ... with anticipation Review: A thoroughly titillating journey into submission that left me breathless in one moment ... and aroused again the next. "Claiming" remains my favorite of the Trilogy, as it also explores the rebellious nature many have in response to submission ... a beautiful and erotic interplay.
Rating: Summary: An Abolitionist's Nightmare Review: Having devoured all but one of Rice's works, I set about consuming these in a truely devoted fashion. I can't tell you how many times I threw down my book wanting to scream! Rice's writing was a trudge through the morass of human debasement. I don't know who A.N. Roquelaure is, but she is not my beloved Anne Rice.
Rating: Summary: Incredabley erotic Review: One of the best series I have read in a long time! A must for any erotic novelist or Rice fan!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful tour of the hidden emotions of everyone. Review: These books helped me to understand a few different things about love and the emotions that are dealt with in any type of sexual relationship. They also helped me to be more comfortable as a sexual being. I reccomend these books to all of my friends and I think everyone else should read them too. If anything, I'm sure that they will prove to be educational for you. ::evil grin::
Rating: Summary: A thoroughly exciting read... Review: Though I was skeptical at first, I rapidly found that this series is stimulating, colorful, and entrancing. Anne Rice does a wonderful job of delving into the thoughts behind submission, offering beautifully written descriptions of the desires of the characters. To truly appreciate this body of work, one really must read all three books in the series. By following Beauty through all the books, you can watch as her character developes and see how she comes to understand and love her submission. As well, the ending of the third book ties everything together as only a fairy tale can. I loved this series, and although I would have liked a bit more variance in the punishment scenes, I still find myself pouring over the books and my favorite passages.
Rating: Summary: Graphic, but Great Review: I thought these books were great! I had gotten these books as a present and read them all in less than three days. The sex scenes are extremely graphic, but you find yourself drawn into Beauty's world. You go from the palace, to the village, to a sultan's palace, back to the village, and finally back to Beauty's home. It's hard to put these books down because in spite of how you may feel about the sexuaul material, you want to find out what happens to Beauty, Tristan, and all the others. I would recommend these books to all my friends. I can't wait to get started on my next Anne Rice novel.
Rating: Summary: I Can't Put it Down! Review: I was given the trilogy as a gift because I really enjoy Anne Rice. I was mezmorized. I couldn't but them down. I have shared my books with friends and they loved it. Their so erodic and exciting.
