Summary: "YAWN 2"
Review: I agree with "YAWN's" review. I'm an Anne Rice fan and cannot wait for her next book to publish. But these threw me for a loop. After the first book, and maybe first few chapters, it was the same old stuff. I guess I'm not cut out for the theme of these books.

Summary: *yawn*
Review: I was extremely disappointed with these books. No character development, scenes are poorly described and these fables lack the lushness in description that I came to expect from the author of "Witching Hour". There's plenty of erotica and humiliation here, but as readers we don't empathize with the main character because we don't know her. Had some exposition been provided, examples of Beauty's purity, chasteness and modesty, her downfall into degradation and defilement would have had a much greater impact. The sex scenes are likewise poorly and flatly described, and they are repeated without variation ad nauseum. We never get to hear what Beauty thinks about the humiliation aside from her constant (and ultimately infuriating) whimpering and weeping. There is no gradual transition from haughty noblewoman to debased sex slave. Beauty has been objectified in the worst sense. *YAWN*

Summary: An Amazing Adventure Into A Different Mindset
Review: I had heard about Anne Rice's Beauty series from friends and finally got the chance to read this Triology. I have to say that I was really blown away by the new mindset it put me in. I consider myself a normal person, with normal sexual interests and feelings, but Rice's writings have opened a new though secret door into my soul. I can now understand the thrill someone might find being overpowered and dominated, the joys of submissiveness and the heady power of domination. This is what I have been looking for in reading, thoughts that change the way I envision myself and my desires. I have now begun looking for this type of erotic tone in other books I read, such as the mystery Devil In the Metal by Rory Smith. His book features a dom-anti-hero who administers a few nice s&m sessions. I understand that he is also a fan of Rice's books which may explain many of his scenes. In closing, I would give the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy by Anne Rice the highest ranking possible.

Summary: One sided Story
Review: While I enjoyed the books, I felt that Beauty was not brought out as a charater. Ms. Rice does a much better job on the male charaters as usual. I never felt a close connection with Beauty or her exploration of life. For all the sex flying around, this trilogy is oddly emotionless and while it is a good read it you never really care about what happens to any of the charaters. Also the story has an abrupt end.

Summary: Absolutely Riveting Trilogy!
Review: These books are a must have for those who can't figure out what their fantasies are. Not only will they give you ideas that you never thought about, they will give you a much needed rest while you can't put them down!

Summary: Excellent!
Review: It's not pointless, as mentioned in a prior review. The sex in the books is in and of itself minor, but it underlies the recurrent theme, the struggling of the chars to find their own sexual identities. For those who enjoy Dom/sub erotica, these books certainly provide entertainment spanning the field of D/s. For those who enjoy romantic, erotic fiction, this trilogy will provide hours of fascinated reading. I, personally, couldn't put them down, for the simple fact that the background and characters are so incredibly rich and complex. One is drawn into the lives of the varied characters, and must -know- what happens to them in the end, before putting the books down.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: I was instantly hooked. The Beauty nolves are the most enchanted adventure into phyical self exploration. After reading it, I felt like a dominatrix. Now i truly know what submission is.

Summary: Didn't enjoy it in the least!
Review: I bought these books because they sounded as if they were going to be a good read but that's not what happened when I actually started reading them. These entire books are all sex and don't get me wrong, I don't mind it but it's page after page of pointless sex. I found myself skimming through the pages so that I may get to some actual facts about the books but it never happens. Every good book must have love and passion in it, but these books are just ridiculous.

Summary: WOW
Review: I guarantee you have never read anything like this before. Her imagination is inspired. Totally keeps you reading from page one to the end in one sitting. VERY hard to put down!!

Summary: repetitive and in the end boring
Review: I did not have a problem with the subject matter. I got bored with the same scenes repeted again and again. Book 1 was constant debasement in a castle with a european style. Book 2 was constant debasement in a rustic village. Book 3 was a small change with 2 of the slaves getting a little of their own back, but they still put up with almost constant debasement in a shiek's palace (eastern style). After a while even her very explicit scenes, which most of them were, got boring. I thought I would find these books exciting but the ending was a relief, finally it was over.
