Summary: Hard To Swallow, Literally
Review: These three novels are by no means meant for the soft at heart. Although I am not a big fan of Anne Rice ( Belinda was terrible!!!!!, I gave it 1 star). I loved these three novles. I have never read anything more erotic and intense in my life. Many say this was a flop for Anne Rice, on the other hand, I think is is the best she has ever done. Go buy this collection, it is well worth the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Gave it to my girlfriend. Spiced things up.
Review: Kinky, different, well written. Not for everyone. But a great read. No M&M's, but plenty of S&M and B&D.

Summary: what went wrong?
Review: I was disappointed. Granted, as I am both an Anne Rice and BDSM enthusiast, I had *high* expectations. This arc began with great promise, and the beginning of The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty awoke a definite sense of eroticism, that dark sensuality ... [and then] this degenerated into a marathon of spankings and punishments so hardcore it gets ridiculous. This stuff doesn't turn you on, it makes you roll your eyes. ... The tender, erotic aspects of a dominatrix/slave relationship were tossed aside for pages of being spanked on the buttocks and men having phallic shaped objects shoved into them.

Summary: No Way!!!Don't waste the money
Review: I bought these because of all the great reviews here. Now I am open minded but this stuff was not sensual more like hard core and kinky freaky deaky. I couldn't even get into it because it was so unpersuasive, this wasn't fantasy this was freaky. I sent them back. And there were way more guys with guys then girls with girls. This book might be better for the person who is thrilled by a dominatrix type. Not for me.

Summary: Very very good
Review: This was a wonderful trilogy. beginners will get a sneak peek at the lifestyle of D/s. It was well written and thought out. Though some of it was a bit far fetched. Some of it is impossible and not conforming to the basic rules of BDSM. But, I loved it and will read it again.

Summary: An EXCELLENT piece of writing
Review: However you view the material, the writing is incredible in this series. I personally found the storyline very interesting and erotic. If you are personally not interested in or turned off by any sort of sexual deviation, then these are probably not the books for you. Anne Rice has taken a classic (boring and vanilla) tale and given it a painful kinky twist. A pure and innocent Beauty quickly finds herself in a world where she is not revered for her status of birth, and learns how to please her keepers.

I highly recommend this book to those who would like to see a different side of the mirror...watch out for that paddle though, it can be quite painful *grin*.

Summary: Ahhhhgg!!!!
Review: Jeez! This book is sickening. I cannot believe that peopleactually liked this gross story. This story is all about weird andstrange sex. I was sometimes afraid to turn the page, because of whatI might read next......There were descriptions I certainly could havedone without....

Summary: I was horrified!
Review: What can I say? Mere words cannot describe how I feel about these "Literary" works of Anne Rice. I had no idea what I was in for when I ordered these books. I assumed that they would be much different. Erotica? I have never read it before, nor will I ever again. But let me say, these books are the farthest thing from eroticism as you can get.

No wonder Anne Rice wrote these under an alias. These books are appalling. There is nothing sensual or erotic in these stories. These books are based on the humiliation and degradation of humans. From the moment I opened the first book of this trilogy, I was aghast. I think the expression on my face must have been one of sheer horror. It took all my will power, not to take these works and fling them across the room and then light their despicable words on fire.

Ms. Rice takes us to our beloved fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, who is awakened from her long sleep by a strong and handsome Prince who initiates Beauty with more than a mere kiss. She is then stripped of her dignity (and clothing) and subjected to the whims of her beloved Princes perverse pleasures. Made to parade amongst everyone in her kingdom, nothing but a mere object made for everyones perverse pleasures. Page after page of explicit descriptions that made me cringe. Dear god, who knew that Ms. Rice had such a disgustingly vast knowledge of sexual torture.

I have read reviews which state, that this book is "Beautiful" and that one must read it to understand the basis of human desire. Please. Desire has nothing to do with dominance and torture. These books were just plain sick. I know I am the minority here, but I genuinely despised these books, and the only reason I finished them was to see if there were any redeeming qualities. Unfortunately there were NONE.

... I do not recommend it in the least...

Summary: Agree with YAWN2
Review: I generally like Anne Rice's books, but with these, she seems to have beaten one general (and simple) theme to death. After the first book she doesn't exhibit much originality at all, but just rehashes the same material over ad infinitum. I would liked to have seen more variations on a theme. The titilation factor was lacking except in select rather brief segments.

Summary: Wonderfully graphic!!
Review: I absolutely adored these books. They are great for when you are alone or for at parties to be read aloud. I thought that the characters are developed enough so that you can almost put yourself in their shoes.
