Rating: Summary: Excellent I-Was-There account! Review: This audiobook is truly absorbing and captivating. The first time I listened to it, I was doing some household chores and put it on as background "noise". But I soon realized that I had to stop what I was doing and replay the entire story from its very beginning. It really makes you feel like you are there, especially at the moment of Thomas Andrews' death and the sinking of the ship. I highly recommend the book to any Titanic enthusiast as well as anyone interested in a well-narrated story.

Rating: Summary: A Wild Imagination Review: This book is a good example of jumping on the Titanic hysteria bandwagon. There is absolutely no reason to believe that the first author is the reincarnation of the Titanic builder. There is no evidence that there is such a thing as a past life or past life regression hypnosis that is genuine. The authors obviously did some homework on the Titanic and put together a nice little story laced with some wild imagination. There are no secrets here that were not available to anyone who had wanted to do a little probing into the life of the builder of the Titanic. In short, the book is a hoax, albeit more entertaining than the recent dismal movie.
Rating: Summary: Don't Judge a Book by its Tilte Review: This book subtitled "Titanic Secrets Revealed Thru The Eyes Of Her Builder" was enough for this reader to purchase this book. Don't make the same mistake. This book is really just a historical novel. Ths clincher with this book is. "Revealed thru the eyes of her builder" means some American from Cleveland has become a shipbuilder's "Bridey Murphy". Receivng information about the defects in the Titanic from the long dead builder speaking through this author. Coincendently the "builder's conclusion as to why the Titanic sank is the same as the episode on the Discovery Channel's Titanic Documentary.I recommend the Discovery Channel on this one. My main gripe is the title gave no hint that the source of information is on shakey ground to say the least.

Rating: Summary: Poignant and historically accurate. Review: This poignant and historically accurate tale that has emerged through the author's detailed recollections is astounding. In his incarnation as the master shipbuilder, his name was Thomas Andrews, a man of great integrity and rare character. It is a truly fascinating story, told with adeptness and truthfulness. The story is getting worldwide attention and lots of sincere praise from the reincarnation experts. In any case, if one is to believe Tommie's story -- and, after hearing these amazing recordings, there's little room for doubt -- that Tommie designed a masterful ship; it was greed and politics that sank the Titanic.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely spellbinding! Review: This story is so real, it will send chills up your spine. I was extremely impressed with the audiobook version, and am delighted to finally have it available in a print format that I can pull off the shelf for quick reference. But this book is much more than just a reprint. Since the publication of the audiobook in January 1999, more documentation has come to light which helps to support Barns' claim to be the reincarnation of Tommie Andrews. This, too, is included in the new book version. As can be expected when somebody claims to be the reincarnation of an historical figure, Barnes has met with considerable ridicule. But not everyone is a skeptic. Research scientist John Wilcox, Ph.D., a mathematician and physicist at the University of Pennsylvania's Johnson Research Foundation, heard Barnes describe the bell effect of a collision with Titanic's single hull and wondered if the theory could be tested by computer simulation. Based on the physical properties of the steel (now known from samples brought up from the wreck), the exact dimensions of the ship, and Barnes' memories of the speed at which she hit the iceberg, Wilcox created a computer-generated model that mathematically reproduced the acoustic energies in Titanic's hull before and after the collision. The findings lend strong support to Barnes' past-life memory of the vibrating hull as a major factor in the breakup of the ship. The results of Dr. Wilcox's simulations, including the diagrams, are included in the book. I myself was impressed with Barnes' ability to remember seemingly minor details, such as the name of the ship's cat, Jenny. (Now there's a piece of trivia for you -- remember that for your next quiz show!) In addition to the cat, publisher Linda Nathanson, in her appendix to the book, lists 23 other verifiable reference points. Plus, there is a section on "Science versus Past-Life Memories," which presents various scientific data on the brittle composition of the steel, recent experiments with scale models, and results of sonar scannings of Titanic's wreck by the Discovery Communications Expedition -- all of which support what Bill remembers from his life as Tommie. The result is one of the most convincing cases for reincarnation that I have seen in my 20+ years of writing on this topic. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: One of the best books that I have read Review: This was one of the most amazing stories I have heard about from the Titanic. It answers many of the questions that have been asked in the past. For example many people have often wondered what happen to Thomas Andrews the ships builder.I will not not give away the answer but instead I will tell you that the situation was unlike anything you have seen in a movie. I would greatly recommend this book as well as A Night to Remember. Both books give vital information on the sinking of the Titanic. If you have any interest in the Titanic, than this book a must read book.
