Summary: The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer: My Life at Rose Red
Review: I enjoyed the contents of the storyline, but at times it did not follow through as I would have preferred. The book has many vital points that was not in the movie by Steven King, "Rose Red" but it did answer some of the questions left by the movie.I enjoyed reading this and feel I know alot more about Ellen Rimbauer because of her Diary.

Summary: Life is stranger than fiction, and so interesting too.
Review: I found this book insightful, and sad. As we see historically a young woman, extends her heart and soul to someone she feels she can believe in and trust. Unfortunately, like some women today, she ends up involving herself in a web of deceit and treachery in order to survive. I am overwhelmed by the altruism Ellen displayed in the beginning, and the way things around her changed the way she thought. She was a loving, faithful wife, who through folly, learned that not everyone is as they seem. She found a heart-mate in Sukeena, and was made to feel like she did something wrong. I think she was just looking for the love she lost with John. I will read this book over and over, and I will continue to share it with my friends. Like everyone, Ellen just wanted a happy family and a happy home. She did the best she could with what she had. Her life is a testament to innocence lost. THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ & A MUST OWN!!!!

Summary: Is it real?
Review: I enjoyed the book, the mini-series, and the website. I feel that this book started out at a slow pace but than got faster then slowed done again. The detail in start was very good and started to losen up. Others and I feel that it is one of the best diary novels we read. After reading parts where shocking to find a novel based off of a mini-series to be published. (Content was graphic) I also was schocked to find out that it was fiction. My local book store had shelved it biographies.

Summary: Skillfully written!
Review: I did not realize this was a fictional story when I read the book. I saw it on a window display at a local store. This book was absolutely the best book I have ever read. Even going on the web to see the missing excerpts - I still did not realize this was fiction. Only when doing a internet search did I find this out. I wish I had not missed the mini series. This book is a must read and I am proud to have it in my collection!

Summary: Should have read it before the TV show
Review: I purchased this book after seeing the miniseries, with great expectations, and have to be honest...I was a little disappointed. While it did serve to explain some of the ambiguities in the show, it wasn't all I had expected. It was good reading, there's no doubt, but it took a while to get going and could have offered more.

Review: I totally loved this book. I saw the ROSE RED on ABC, and loved it and then bought this book. I could not put it down, I found myself making time to read it. I was so into this book, I started looking at houses differently, and wondering about my own home? Could the really have a mind of their own! Even thou this is ficition!! haha I know! But I still jump at the slightest sound in my house when im alone!! Im not picky on how books are written, all I can say is this book was very interesting, and fun to read.

Summary: Much better than the movie
Review: If you enjoy haunted house stories, this is the book for you. It really captures the essence of the classic haunted house story. Wonderful, in-depth characterizations and genuinely scary moments. It's been a long while since I've been creeped out by a book. The movie Rose Red was ok, but sort of scattered & rambling. This book ties up all the loose ends very satisfyingly. It actually made the movie seem a lot scarier after reading & now I want to watch it again.
Very good, I highly recommend it. Especially for those who are into Victorian ghost stories or creepy campfire tales.

Summary: Extremely Disappointing
Review: I'm not sure what I expected from this book, but this wasn't it! We all know that the book is fiction, but it is also obvious to me that it was written by a man. No woman would pen her diary in this manner. Supposedly, Ellen is a young bride at the beginning of this book. She marries an older, very wealthy man, and they embark on a lengthy honeymoon that takes to some of the most exotic places on earth. During this trip, her husband directs her to spend lots of money and buy whatever she wants to furnish the luxurious mansion being built for them in Seattle. So, what does she write about in her diary? The beautiful places they visit? No. Her purchases? No. Plans for their opulent new home? No. She writes of little more than her husband's sexual appetites...and it's deadly boring! There is precious little plot, setting or character development in this book. I had hoped that the character of Rose Red (yes, the house!) would have been more fully developed, and that we might understand more about Ellen, Sukeena and the children...but this doesn't happen. This book offered so much promise as a follow-up to the miniseries, but, woefully, failed to deliver.

Review: I have read this Diary of Ellen Rimbauer and am REALLY fascinated by it and could hardly put it down once I had started reading it. I would LOVE to take a tour through this emaculate house some day if I were to have the opportunity and if allowed. I do believe in this AMAZING diary even though I have read that some believe this to have been Joyce Reardon's "made up" thesis for her University, in which they also say does not exist...

Summary: Another Entertaining Book by Stephen King
Review: A fast and entertaining read, this book is the prequal to the movie, Rose Red. Creepier than the movie, it explains a lot that did not make much sense. If there is any doubt that this book was written by Stephen King, just look for the veiled little references he made to a few of his other works like Firestarter and Cugo. Also note the use of "out of control plants" like that in The Plant. If you wanted to like the movie but were disappointed, this book is a must.
