Rating: Summary: Brilliant!!!!! Review: This was the first novel I read by Mr.Koontz, and now many years later,I must say this is the best and most terrifying novel I have ever read by Mr.Koontz (and I have read many Horror-fiction-novels!!). The way he mix science with traditional "beast"-stories is absolutely genious!!! I have recommended this book to several of my friends who have never read a book before, and they could not put the book down after starting to read it!!!!!!!! Thank you Mr.Koontz!!
Rating: Summary: Without a doubt Koontz's greatest achievement Review: An unbelievable novel that surpasses all other novels. This novel was incredible. No other book can match up with it.
Rating: Summary: LOCK THE DOORS AND BOLT THE WINDOWS!!!! Review: If you don't want to be completely paranoid about computers and science, you might want to skip this one.Once again Dean Koontz has taken an everyday situation and shown that not everything is as innocent as it seems. Our villian is probably someone you know (I think I used to work with him!!!) and our "heroes" are people who seem the most unlikely. If you want to know what all the hoopla is over Dean Koontz, this is the book to start with. Just keep any dangerous objects out of arms reach and warn people not to sneak up on you while reading this one!
Rating: Summary: magnificent, spell-binding and compelling!! Review: Let me start out by saying I'm a huge fan of Koontz- the undisputed Master of horror and suspense. No one does it consistently better, or even as well as Koontz. And MIDNIGHT is the best of the best- NUMERO UNO, a must-read!! Fascinating characters, a thrilling plot, great ideas!! BRAVO........
Rating: Summary: GRIPPING AND TUG-AT-YOUR-HEART Review: Midnight was the first novel I had ever read by Mr. Koontz. I worked with a woman who loaned me a copy of Midnight. That was about nine to ten years ago and ever since then, I can't wait for his next book to come out! I have read every book he has written, some of them twice, and always come away satisfied. Thank you, Mr. Koontz -- and if you ever give up writing, I don't know what I and the rest of your admirers will do. Keep 'em coming!!
Rating: Summary: Very good Review: This book was an excellent thriller. I couldn't put it down. My favorite horror author is Robert R. McCammon, and in "Midnight", Dean Koontz writes in the same style. That's why I enjoyed it so much. However, I read "Midnight" and "Servants of the Twilight" one after the other in a three day period, and I had intense and violent dreams for two days afterwards. Normally I wouldn't say anything, but I forwarded both of those books to a friend, who read them both quickly in succession, and the same thing happened to her. As in, the most disturbing dreams she ever had. So, it's safe to say that this is a pretty intense book.
Rating: Summary: Best book ever written Review: This is easily the best book Ive ever read. Add the best elements of every other Koontz book and you still wont match the intensity of Midnight. The element about the regressives choosing to regress in order to escape human tribulation is amazingly well executed. Absolutely masterful.
Rating: Summary: Compelling and disturbing...hard to put down! Review: I have to admit that even though this book scared me to the point of lack of sleep, I could not put it down. It was terribly disturbing because the thought of it ever really happening makes my skin crawl. It was not really my taste, but it was well-written, fast-paced, and extremely entertaining. I can see why Dean Koontz is such a popular author, although I do not see myself reading any of his other books.
Rating: Summary: The best Koontz ever! Review: Having read all of Koontz's books to date, I can safely say this is my absolute favorite! (I can't help but think that Microsoft was the author's motivation!)
Rating: Summary: A brilliant masterpiece! Koontz--my hero! Review: Someone had commented that MIDNIGHT wasn't realistic. Who the hell needs realism? This life is real enough. Besides, realistic fiction is a contradiction of terms! (hee-hee) When I read, I want an escape from reality. In fact, Koontz's imagination sends the reader into a whole new world which makes this one look all too predictable. You're doing just fine, my man! Keep up the good work.
