Rating: Summary: KOONTZ, NOT AT HIS BEST, BUT AT LEAST KOONTZ Review: This is a cop story-- bad part-- written with a plot only Koontz can come up with-- good part. I felt like I was reading NYPD Blues-meets-The Twilight Zone. Excellent story, just lose the pigs (cops, this clarification is for my bf who is a little slow).
Rating: Summary: Sublime Review: Dragon Tears is a intriguing story that keeps you guessing for quite sometime. Some readers who lack patience tend to grow tired of the book quickly it seems once the action begins to dissolve more into the mystery of the story. Many things are left unanswered until farther in which captivates some and bwefuddles others. This book is at the top of my list of recommended books, but not the first on the list. The one downside is that the characters are so fantasticly unique that they almost become unbelieveable. Though the over all power of the story redeems that slight error.Overall, a fabulous read really... Great work Dean!
Rating: Summary: I thought the book lacked style. Review: In my opinion the book was a two thumbs up book. The begining started off fastpaced and intresting. It made you want to keep reading, at first. Then it started to get slow and boring, it was unable to hold my intrest so i stopped reading on page sixty-five. The way Dean Koontz shifted from story to story kind of confused me, you were'nt getting the answers like who was the rat guy. So I thought this book was weak, I read some of his other books and they were exellent. basically I give this book two thumbs down.
Rating: Summary: Flawed Review: Suspenseful and somewhat literate during the first few hundred pages, Dragon Tears is way too long. I lost interest in it about halfway in. The stock characters became annoying (why don't they ever do or say anything besides the usual horror genre prattle) and the plot became extremely linear. I knew the ending and did not want to meet it once again under such miserable circumstances. Koontz is better than King and Barker is better than Koontz but does anyone really care?
Rating: Summary: a fantastic thriller Review: This is the kind of book you just got to finish in one sitting. It keeps you hooked with a strong need to know what will happen next. The only thing that bothered me was the end, which was less climaxing thant what Dean had made us to expect from all the tension he built up. Nevertheless, another master piece. Read it.
Rating: Summary: great Review: it kept me reading it untill the very last page i loved it
Rating: Summary: Another good one from Koontz Review: How suspenseful! The characters were interesting and the manner in which he portrayed the evil "Ticktock" was riveting. However, it does not deserve five stars because the ending lacked depth and creativity. I was expecting the final chapter to be more grand than it was. Also, that dog was somewhat annoying.
Rating: Summary: Gripping and told in wonderful prose. Review: Recently, I listened to my first suspense novel in an audiobook format while I drove to attend my Nieces high school graduation. It was incredible!! A six hour drive seemed like merely 2 hours by virtue of the tale that Koontz spins. I found DT to be a very good story that is very well written.
Rating: Summary: This was the first Dean Koontz book I have read... Review: The beginning of this book was hard to get into...but by the time i got to the second chapter i was hooked...i thought this book was really well written...what i thought might happened didn't and it had a plot twister with stopping time and all...in a scientifical way, i could see how they were able to float in air...i bet that would happen if time stopped.
Rating: Summary: Great Graphically Intense Book Review: Awesome characters, and really cool events, especially with the dog, Woofer.
