Summary: Connection btxt Koontz books
Review: This is an incredible book. I couldnt put it down. The sequel is great too. But anywayz, to get to the point.... When the explain about the experiment that made Orson, they talk about how the were trying to recreate an earlier experiment...The Francis Project. And if you read Watchers, his best book ever, you may have noticed that Einstein comes from the Francis Project.

Summary: Fear Nothing because this book ROCKS!
Review: I wouldn't normally give any thriller 5 stars (I mean, we're not talking about serious fiction here folks) but the rating on this book MUST go higher so I'm giving it 5 stars just to help.

This is not only the best Koontz has written (with the possible exception of Lightning), it's also the most truthful and human. By truthful I mean Koontz not only broke out of his annoying formula mold, but also overcame most of his dialogue issues that can drive you to drink at times.

This is a damn good story and a sweet one at that. I really, really cared about these characters. I just can't say enough about how much fun this was to read. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. You won't be sorry.

Summary: What!????
Review: Okay to start thing off, why do most loyal readers of Dean Koontz books absolutly hate this book? I thoght this book was one of his best peices of work ever. It is writen in a 1st person perspective. It may be a little on the weird side but that does not change much at all. It has all the elements of a great book. It has a very origanal plot and christipher Snow is one of his most out of the ordinary charecters I have read about so far. It is also a little funny witch isn't unusual for Dean Koontz This novel has a genius dog (witch I think is a great addition to any novel) that heps Christepher throught the story to solve the mystery of Wyvern.

Now I'd like to talk about the plot. The story starts off as Chris answering the phone and haveing to go to the hospitol to talk to hs father for the last time. He is told to fear nothing and the suspense begins. After that he sees some men that are supposed to be leaving to creamat his fahter take another man the beat to take the place as his fahter. He then is off on the jurney to figure out why his fathers copse was swaped. He is lead back to wyvern and he doscoveirs many things in the span of one night. This is a most read for loyel Dean Koontz fans and anyone else that want to read a great book.

In all this book is suspenseful, funny, and a absolutely wonderful book!

Summary: Extra-smart animals once again, but in the best way
Review: Koontz seem to have something with extra-smart animals, especially dogs, and you can find this motive in at least 3 of his books. His geniusee is that he's wrapping this naive or even childish idea with scientific ideas and very realistic terrors. The charecters in this book are great, the book is scary and yet fun, and is a great way to pass a summer's night, or better, a stormy winter night!

Summary: Love the characters.
Review: I enjoyed this book a lot. The idea of mutant monkeys is a bit dumb, but it is made up for in the characters. I just love Chris, Bobby, Sascha and of course Orson.

I want to read the sequel, not because I really care if the mutants take over the town (or the world) but because I love hanging out with the characters.

Summary: Read(or listen to) This Book!!...
Review: This is my first review but this book is worth it! I've read it,but first listened to the audiobook. If possible give the audiobook a chance. My girlfriend and I started listening to it on our trip to Disneyworld and we couldn't wait to get back to the car each day to find out what happens next! The sequal is as good or better! I fought listening/reading this book kicking and screaming, and wound up loving it! I hope you give this book a chance!

Summary: Not Koontz's best
Review: After trying to read this work and failing three times, I took a chance at listening to the audio version ... and it worked, though slowly. Not until midway did the story grab me. Then I found myself looking for reasons to run errrands to listen while driving.

Suffering from a rare and incurable disease (XP) and unable to expose himself to natural or artificial light, Christopher Snow (aka, Snowman) leads a nocturnal life: intriguing premise, perhaps ingenious. Unfortunately, Koontz fails to develop Snowman as a complex, three-dimensional charagcter suffering from the disorder.

The story plays out one night in Moonlight Bay, on the California coast. Encounters with mutant monkeys and intelligent dogs and cats -- as well as malicious residents who are "becoming" -- proliferate almost out of control. Through it all, Christopher displays a resolve and toughness that have not been established. With the help of his friend Bobby, who remains "cool" in all situations (too cool), they prevail. Also, not yet 30 years of age, they just happen to be independently wealthy. C'mon!

More challenging yet, I listened to the novel after finishing Stephen King's ON WRITING, a sound and entertaining memoir, in which King elaborates his disdain for adverbs (echoing Strunk & White). Koontz, violates the fundamental "shamelessly." Adverbs rain on one's ears -- conspicuous, distracting, and irritating. Koontz would do well to take time to revise and eliminate adverbs; his publishers will wait.

Read or listen to the book for an entertaining escape (though one redeeming and almost overriding aspect of the audio is Szarabajka's reading -- truly masterful. What a voice!)

Summary: fear nothing
Review: The book was not bad all. Christopher Snow (its charachter) seems to be a geneous. Its hard to believe hes so smart and cool in situations hes never been in. Almost the mind of a cop wich he is not. A respectable character. I loved Orson. Hed be a great dog to have. I was very intrigued by what was happening to him. Who was messing with him? And why? There was more suspense than action. I would have liked for him to show off his fighting skills he speaks about. His best friend is TOO relaxed. No one would just be chillin after they heard news like Chris told him. I hope Sieze the Night will bring more twists and more action.

Summary: Koontz at his best!
Review: It's clear that Dean Koontz novels are not everyone's idea of great literature. Think of it as escapist fiction with a twist of science and quirky characters. Koontz likes to mix in DNA experiments that went wrong with a dark flavor similar to Stephen King. In my opinion, the Christopher Snow character is Koontz' best. He's smart, resourceful and overly curious, yet at the same time horribly limited by a disease that makes him overly sensitive to light. I made the mistake of reading the sequel, "Seize the Night" first -- try to start with this one! It's a good idea to allow yourself plenty of time to read this, because once the story gets going it's nearly impossible to put down.

Summary: Up To Usual Koontz Standards
Review: This book is out of the box in which Koontz usually operates, something recent releases of books he wrote earlier under pseudonyms demonstrates he desperately wants to do, and I say bravo for him! First I don't recall him ever trying a series before, and so my initial disappointment in this book's ending - that next to nothing was explained or resolved - was aleviated when I heard a sequel was being released.
This is a fun romp through the midnight world of the fictional town Moonlight Bay, California with a hero who is as intrepid as the wise-cracking Amazing Spider-Man with such a unique outlook on life that you can't help like him!
His buddy, the clueless and steadfastly uncurious Bobby is as cocky and offbeat as Christopher is, and Chris' relationship with his DJ girlfriend puts one in mind of Robert Parker's Spenser and Susan. His dog and constant companion is a miracle and the wierd characters Chros runs afoul of are creepy enough to keep Dracula awake nights.
The final battle with the super-smart rhesus monkies is tense and action packed and as fun as a barrel of them! Koontz opens up a can of worms here that, now that I've read the squel to this one, I can clearly see need two volumes to tell.
Readit! You won't regret it!
