Rating: Summary: Worst Koontz book I have ever read. Review: I really look forward to a Dean Koontz book but this book was not worth the time I spent reading it. The book drug and the end was not at all climatic I think this one was wrote only for sake of putting out another best seller with little regard for quality. I hope the next one returns to the fun reads Koontz has given us in the past.
Rating: Summary: Not one of his best Review: If you have read "Watchers" you will find many similarities in the plot and characters in this book. "Watchers" was better by far. I'm beginning to feel that some of my favorite horror writers (Stephen King especially) are running out of fresh ideas and are capitalizing on things they've written in the past to sell more books. The beginning was too drawn out and I was more than half way through before the story line really became interesting. Hope Mr Koontz does better next time.
Rating: Summary: Koontz keeps growing Review: I am a Dean Koontz fan from way back. Over the years I've come to recognize that not every one of his books will please me, primarily because Mr. Koontz is not afraid to try something different as a writer. Yes, he has a general formula for his books (what writer doesn't?) but he's willing to experiment with new and different ways of telling his stories. Particularly over the past few books, I sense that Mr. Koontz is stretching himself artistically in order to avoid dying of total boredom at having to write the same basic story a hundred times. :)This is fine. But it does lead to a sense among his regular readers that he is "uneven," sometimes giving us exactly what we want, and sometimes disappointing us because we don't get what we expect. The best way to read Koontz is without expectations, other than that he will deliver a well-written book. Come along on his artistic joyride and join in his pleasure as he experiments with his artistry. Along the way, you'll probably discover new favorites. FEAR NOTHING will not be one of my Koontz favorites, but it's still a damn good book! And I will, as always, continue to buy his new books as soon as they come out. Each new journey has the potential to be a long-awaited gem. Keep it up, Mr. Koontz.
Rating: Summary: Excellent-Koont's best yet Review: Fear Nothing is one of Dean Koont'z best novel. It contains lot of suspense, mistery and a great plot. I recommend it to anyone; a Koont'z fan or not. Great work Mr. Koontz.
Rating: Summary: Not as potent Koontz as before Review: I am a fan but this one left me thinking, that is it? I guess so he could write a sequel. well I do hope he cuts out alot of the descriptives and keeps the story going a little smoother than he did in "Fear Nothing".
Rating: Summary: This was the best of Dean Koontz to date!!! Review: I have liked all of Dean Koontz's books, but this is the best of all. I hope there will be more of Chris Snow & Co. I would love to see where he, Sausha, Orson & Bobby go from here. Thanks Dean for another great read (or in my case, listen). Cynthia Rooney
Rating: Summary: Clever with interesting and complex characters Review: I am not generally a Koontz fan but this book was quick paced and witty. The book's characters are almost as colorful as those in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The books maintains a high level of suspense, however, I would not dscribe it as horror.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This is the first Dean Koontz book I've read and I'm hooked. So many twists and turns - very cleverly written and kept me turning the pages.
Rating: Summary: I am still amazed at how shallow and plotless this book was. Review: I am one of Dean Koontz most avid reader. I have always bought his books without even reading what it was about. This book has me in shock still...it was so drawn out and dull I didn't even wish to finish it cause I really didn't care what happened to the main character. I will let this one slid by and remain a loyal reader but please Mr. Koontz write like Mr. Dean Koontz.
Rating: Summary: If you've read "watchers", you've basically read this book. Review: With the exception of the lead character having a physical disability, this book is pretty much the same as "Watchers". Koontz even made the two animals characters the same, one a super intelligent dog who is definitely man's best friend, the other a rage-filled monkey and his buddies intent on killing all humans. The writing is way too verbose, with Koontz over-describing everything from the color of the leaves on the trees to the way the wind blows through the grass. He could have cut out about 50 pages and it would have been the same book. I'm a big Koontz fan, and I'd have to say, don't bother.
