Rating: Summary: Who needs Lassie when you have Orson? Review: Of the four Koontz books that I've read, this is by far the best. Although the characters, especially Orson, outshine the plot, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I will definitely buy the next episode that Koontz promises at the end.
Rating: Summary: Slow start, strong finish Review: I strongly agree with some of the other reviews that I have read. Fear Nothing is slow to start but it turns into a real jewel!! Must Read!!
Rating: Summary: Another Government Experiment Gone Awry Review: I found this book to be a typical fast paced Dean Koontz book. From the second chapter on, Christopher Snow was an enjoyable main character and I absolutely loved Orson. Mr. Koontz painted a great picture of the relationship between Christopher and Orson without going into great descriptive detail. I could really picture (as anyone having a dog), Orson cocking his head and looking at Christopher with big brown doggy eyes. However; as titled, this was another book about a Government experiment gone bad. Overall, this was another good book by Koontz. However, it is basically the same plot (Government experiment gone bad) as in Mr. Murder, Sole Survivor and if memory serves me correctly, Watchers. Perhaps it is time for Mr. Koontz to take a sabatical to conjure up some new and different story lines. Still a Dean Koontz fan and enjoy his books. Darrin, Waldorf, Maryland
Rating: Summary: A great read, if you understand the idea Review: I read the reviews here before I bought the book, I thoughy twice before buying it. after reading it, I want to come back and say, "those of you whining about too much description and not enough violence, get a clue!!!" The book is first person through a man who studies poetry! Of course it's descriptive. I found the book very engaging and have read all the Koontz books. I put this behind Watchers and infront of Midnight. Very good reading, buy it own it read it. and if you're reading this Mr. Koontz, nice work... now get offline and write as I'm patiently waiting.
Rating: Summary: A really good read. Yep! Review: I'm a huge Koontz fan and have read every one of his books. I must say this book wasn't his best, but I can still recommend it. Though, it doesn't come close to "Watchers" and "Sole Survivor." "Dark Rivers of the Heart" was the best for characters, plot development, and action. Dark Rivers, a thriller-conspiracy novel is a lot like the new Steiger book, Alien Rapture which is selling faster than they can print it. Steiger, like Koontz in Dark Rivers, has created a masterpiece and the story is spellbinding and a page turner. All this said, Koontz is such a superb story teller and one of the best in this genre. It's still a great read.
Rating: Summary: Not one of the best, but OK. Review: He's had others that were better, that moved along a little swifter, but it was intersting. A good book for all the x-filers out there. And it appears from his new book this is turning into a series, so it could develop into a rather engrossing story.
Rating: Summary: I really like this guy he makes my skin crawl!! HE KICKS ASS Review: This book is an awesome thriller. I think everyone who likes scary or exciting books should read this book and any book from Dean Koontz. Dean your my favorit!!!
Rating: Summary: Fear Nothing, except maybe being bored out of you gourd! Review: I read the 1st few pages and skimmed the book while at the book stand. I liked the author's writing style and the story line seemed to offer an engrossing read. Unfortunately, when I read on and found that the book's basic theme is "science gone wrong" and "government research project out of control", I was really disappointed. There is no real substance or suspense, and I found myself leafing through the last half just to get to the end and get it over with. Borrring !
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book! (theres another one?) Review: This was a great book. I found it hard to get in to at first but once the story got started it was fabulous. The dog dug at my heartstrings and Chris Snow was a wonderful person. Unlike Koontz's other books it was a slow starter, but an otherwise great book. Although, I didnt know there was more. Could someone fill me in on that?
Rating: Summary: boring at first, but i still ended up hooked. Review: this novel by dean koontz was somewhat boring at first, i was on the verge of shuting it and putting it back on my shelf when all of a sudden it hooked me. i finished the book in one night. i would highly recommend this book to all koontz fan. and i promise that it does get better just give it a chance.
