Summary: Good Follow Up Effort
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed both Fear Nothing and Sieze the Night. In fact, I felt that the addition of the second novel added even more depth to the familiar characters that were introduced in the first.

Christopher Snow has a rare impairment of the skin that makes it impossible to spend anytime exposed to ultraviolet rays, and so he must live in the night.

Their small town, Moonlight Bay, is being over run by a government experiment gone bad. His friends, and un-naturally intelligent dog named Orson, his girlfriend Sasha, and long time bud Bobby are the only people remaining that can be trusted.

I thought the combination of time travel and quantum mechanics theories was interesting, though Koontz could have delved a little deeper into the issues. But all in all I was very extertained.

And for those of you who haven't read the first novel, there's no real need to. Koontz sufficiently catches us up on all that happened in the first book.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: After reading _Fear_Nothing_ I just had to keep going. The characters are enjoyable, the plot is exciting, with plenty of twists, and the story is VERY original. No one but Koontz can write like this! It seems a joke can be made about anything and everything! This is a MUST READ for thriller fans!

Summary: Koontz books' still getting better.
Review: I thought that, SEIZE THE NIGHT, was a good book, but the his other book, FEAR NOTHING, was better because it hooked me right from the begining. This book it took me a few chapters to make me want to read and find out what happens. The book had to many details in some parts and not enough details in other parts. It also took awhile to get some points across, which made some parts a little longer than they should have been. In some sections of the book it was hard to understand a little bit. The book was good because it kept me wanting to read more. My favorite books are mysteries and suspense novels and thats why I picked this book out. I also wanted to find out what happens to Christopher Snow, and if the mystery of Fort Wyvern was ever revealed. Overall this book was a good book and I would recommend it to anyone, if they liked this kind of book.

Summary: Slightly better than Fear Nothing...
Review: I've seen an incredible amount of conflicting opinions over which of the two books in this series is better... here's my two cents worth!

I found Seize the Night a little better, overall. While both have some very suspenseful scenes, and both build on a plot with many seemingly unrelated, strange elements that find a way to tie together, I was more satisfied with the ending in Seize the Night. I thought it was more climactic. And shed some more light (sorry Chris Snow) on what is happening at the research facility.

In my opinion, you really should read Fear Nothing to better understand some of the plot elements of this one. While Koontz (as the narrator Snow) does take some time for brief explanations of what happened in the previous novel, I think if you read it first, you'll have a better appreciation for some of the whacko things that happen here and why they did! (For example, the monkeys....)

While happier with the ending in this one, I think there are still some loose ends, hopefully settled in the next book rumored to come out about the same characters. The Crux of both books is Fort Wyvern, and some Government funded experiments gone wrong in scientific areas that are never studied mainstream (I won't say what to spoil the plot although some of these other reviews reveal it). And it's the outcomes of these experiments and what went wrong, and how it affects the outer community and possible the rest of the world, that tie together the novel. I think there some more to tie in the next installment...

At times, the narrative can be a little too much, but I guess that's just Koontz. Overall, it's not a classic, but was a fine piece of novelism for a week and a half...

Summary: Mysterious and Suspense
Review: I am reading the book SEIZE THE NIGHT and it is a sequel to his other book FEAR NOTHING. So far the book is good from what I have read. I like this book because it is a mystery novel and it keeps me wanting to read to find out what happens next. It also makes someone feel like they are one of the characters in the book so the person feels happy when the character is happy, scared when the character is scared, and so on. Although, the book does have some down sides to it. It is hard to understand sometimes during a part of it. The only reason I do not like the book is because it does not get its point across that fast like other books. The book describes everything that happens. That is a good thing for some things but not for every part of the book. It took me a few chapters to get into the book and want to keep reading it. This book overall is a really good book and I would reccomend anyone who likes to read scary, mystery, suspence kind of novel to read this book, SIEVE THE NIGHT.

Summary: Koontz
Review: After struggling through all of the detail in this book and looking forward to the climax / "homecoming" - Koontz left me empty. Too many plots left with loose ends. Koontz also rushed through portions of the book which, in my opinion, deserved more sentimentality.

Summary: Where's The Kitchen Sink?
Review: Koontz here loses all self-control. This novel is 50% sci fi, 50% horror-occult, 50% techno-thriller, 50% manhunt for insane criminal-genius, 50% Ghostbusters, 50% buddy-story, 50% Lassie Come Home, 50%... what am I leaving out? Oh, I see now - it's a screenplay for 3 or 4 movies with great special effects. In short, the ultimate summer read - I kinda liked it.
