Rating: Summary: Absurd plot, but still a great read Review: I would rate this among Koontz's top ten best works. Even though the story might seem a little too similar to Dr. Moreau you can't help but appreciate the author's wild imagination. The characters are so likable, especially Loman Watkins, who represents one man's struggle against evil. The manner in which Koontz portrayed the "Regressives" was horrifying. the book also sends a strong message: We as moral citizens must not let science progress too much and get out of hand; the result could be disastrous.
Rating: Summary: Scary, but not realistic... Review: Midnight is the first book I have read written by Koontz. Well... I thought it was scary most of the time, but realistic? No, I don't think so. But Koontz knows how to create a suspense thriller; almost every chapter ends with a cliffhanger... Midnight made me curious about his other works...
Rating: Summary: Fascinating and scary! Review: This was the first Dean Koontz book I've read, and I loved it! With technology being expanded everyday, it almost seems as if this is where the human race is headed. It's a horrifying vision into what could be the future. This is a rich and textured novel, which plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader on their toes. It is extremely gratifying and thrilling. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes horror stories.
Rating: Summary: This book is what first made me a fan! Review: I have read most of Koontz book's, but this one is still my favorite!! The action is gripping, the emotion very real, the character portrayal flawless, and the storyline horrifying. It is along the same lines as his book Night Chills -- which I also recommend because it is even more believable than this one -- but carried much farther. If you read any of his books, read this one!!
Rating: Summary: Gives You the creeps! Review: If You LIKE Koontz...You will LOVE this book...
Rating: Summary: Terrifying! Excellent! Superb! Perfect! Review: Excellent book. After reading this book I couldn't stop thinking about it. What happens in Moonlight Cove can happen anywhere today. Turning this very real terror into a book is one of the best moves Dean ever made. You will be scared not only because of what happens to the characters, but because it can happen to YOU!
Rating: Summary: The best book he ever wrote!! Review: I've been reading Dean Koonz for years. I remember back when he was known as "Dean R. Koonz". This is easily the best book he ever wrote. Though it's been years since I originally read it, it is the only one that sticks with me.
Rating: Summary: Superb Review: This was the first of Dean's books I had read. I couldn't believe how facinating it was. What a mind he has! I couldn't put it down and kept thinking about it constantly till I could get back to it. I like the fact that he doesn't use bad language in his books.
Rating: Summary: Compeling characters and a horrifying plot. Review: This book is a great book. Not only because of its characters, but because of its setting. It takes placce in a small town in Northern California called Moonlight Cove. Now the fact that it takes place in a small , in the middle of nowhere town is what makes it scary. The characters that Dean Koontz has made up are especially great, because the ages have a huge range. They go from a 12 year old girl to a 50 year old paralyzed man. In this little town citizens are changing. They are changing into their worst nightmare. Why, because of an amber liquid, and because of the Moonhawk Project. I think this book is great, although you have to have a lot of patience, because it is very detailed and long, but it doesn't last.
Rating: Summary: a real nail-biter Review: This has got to be one of his best novels, that is until he kicks out another one, he has so many really. It's a fast read, its spooky, and there's mystery and then it's just really scarey. Read it and you too will be a Koontz fan, thanks Dean. Where does he come up with this stuff?
