Rating: Summary: Pleasure to read Review: This book has given me the confidence to go ahead and get working on my first water garden. It is pretty complete -- the introduction and essentials outlines some of the basics, and then there are 15 different designs, beautifully rendered with both photos and illustration, lots of tips, steps involved, points to remember, etc. These are designs with at least one significant distingushing feature; they are not all "dig a hole and line the rim with rocks". My coworker has had half-a-dozen koi ponds over the last 15+ years, and his verification of what this book was telling me lent it credibility to me. Near the end of the book details mainenance throughout the year, particular fish and their particular needs, what to think about with plants, etc. I saw other books on the shelf on water gardening, but having read this I don't feel I need to get another.
