Review: Although I'm still of the mind that only marriage can prepare one for marriage, I very much enjoyed Pesmen's many vignettes of newly wed couples. I especially appreciated the author's own personal narratives on marriage.

Good wit, good expert testimony. My only disappointment was that that the author never delved further into the really tough issues.

Review: I devoured this book chapter by chapter. It tells the stories of different newlywed couples and how they dealt with issues such as planning the wedding, the honeymoon, families, gender roles, sex, and more. It made me think a lot about things I hadn't thought about before. As an engaged woman, I feel much more prepared after reading the book. Defnitely recommend!

Summary: Perfect for newley engaged couples
Review: My fiance and I are planning a long engagement. Both of us wanted to be sure we were right for each other. We looked for books to try and help us to prepare ourselves for the big change in our lives. This book was the answer. It told us what to expect, and what to accept as reality. It didn't try to fluff the ideas of marriage as perfect and what every person should do as other books I read. It contains numerous accounts from actual married couples. I think this is the perfect book for anyone who is even considering marriage.

Review: Someone who has not been married a full year should not write a book titled "Your First Year of Marriage!" I read through the first two chapters hoping the next page would be better, but I was wrong. He wrote this book mainly based on interviews. Each chapter (or at least the first two) is short segments taken from interviews. It is very choppy and has no point.

After the second chapter, I went back to Amazon to check on selling it back. I then noticed that there were 31 used copies for sell. I wished I had looked at that before I bought this book.

Take my advice, select another book!!!!!!
