Summary: Way More Than Just A Manual!
Review: Marla Gassner is an artist and a true teacher! This fabulous book is not only full of wonderful projects, but it provides a springboard to experimentation in design. I especially enjoyed the clarity of the techniques presented, and the practical advice about beading tools and threads. The whole concept of "puddling" is just great! You collect items and let them speak to you. What a creative process! I have completed most of the projects, and I have elaborated upon many of the techniques and stitces. I am looking forward to the publication of Marla's new book so I can continue my beading adventures with her as a guide! This book was an inspiration.

Summary: Pricey but Well Worth It
Review: This is an excellent book - spiral bound with blank pages for notes throughout until you can add your own thoughts and ideas.There are seventeen projects included in this book. Three are button projects that include thoughts on how to use antique buttons without major damage to the value of the buttons. There is one knotted necklace at the beginning of the book. There are three lariat ideas. Section two is devoted to the creative process, how to find inspiration, and use color and style in jewelry. I see this book as half inspiration and half instruction. Most of the projects are basic stringing, I think a beginner could handle these and learn a lot about designing in the process.
