Rating: Summary: Lots of variety ranging from absolutely stunning to horrid Review: A variety of thread and yarn crochet projects can be found in this book and you will most certainly appreciate several projects. I personally liked most of the thread projects like the absolutely gorgeous x-mas ball covers (shown on the front cover) and the notions (piano, bassinet, swan etc. Overall though, I found myself unimpressed with many of the yarn projects in this book. A few of them are cute like the Mr. and Mrs. snowman pocket scarf and ear muff set, the nativity set, musical angel, gingerbread house and a range of different ornaments but the afghans are all average looking (as I have seen much nicer ones elsewhere) and a few projects are quite horrid like x-mas stockings made with black and brown yarn, an ugly pine cone wreath and a gingerbread tree skirt pairing up again black and brown yarn along with the more traditional x-mas colors. I was also disappointed to find that several of the patterns can be found online at freepatterns.com. I haven't seen any other Christmas Crochet books that include such a wide variety of thread and yarn projects but I think that you could come up with as good a collection of Christmas projects(if not better) by simply browsing the various free pattern sites on-line or pairing up a good Christmas thread crochet book with a good Christmas yarn crochet book.
