Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great Reference
Review: an informative reference for the advanced marine aquariaist, although focus is put solely on the orchid dottyback this book would be a useful tool to anyone breeding just about any marine aquarium fish

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Not what I was hoping for
Review: I'm aware of who Martin A. Moe Jr. is and how long he's been in the field. However, after reading this book my respect for his work dropped considerably. I'm not sure why Martin is still in this field. 90% of this book is complaining with a few side notes on poking fun at homeless people. I'm use to reading books by authors who are excited about their hobby, who are in love with what they do. With all the complaining in this book I kept asking myself why Martin doesn't just take up golf and forget the aquarium bit. I feel that 5% to 10% of this book gave me useful information for the reason I'd bought it for in the first place. Oh, and I'd almost forgotten, please don't start a book by describing your aquarium setup for pages and pages with no diagrams or pictures ! The majority of people are visual learners and reading about the layout of a fish room is like trying to picture a car engine through a text only description. Finally when you reach the diagram it's not all that detailed, just 2 or 3 color photos would have cut 10+ pages off the length of this book. I really don't like giving such a negative review. Martin Moe is very respected in this field, I just really felt that the book was 90% - 95% complaining and other irrelevant data and 5% - 10% what I'd bought it for.
