Rating: Summary: Beginners Only - 3 stars written content, 0 stars projects Review: This book is for beginners only. The book has a short techniques introduction covering fabrics and threads through to preparation and framing. The rest of the chapters detail small projects, to teach the novice embroiderer a limited number of techniques. The projects are obviously simple, to be introductory, but they are just awful. Please try and view this book in a bookstore before purchasing online. I was very disappointed in this book.
Rating: Summary: Projects are so-so. Review: This is a beginner's embroidery book. The pictures on stitches were hard to follow on some. I can't figure out if the view is from the front or back of the fabric. There are a few very cute projects, but the rest are just awful. I have to agree with another reviewer. Plus the templates seem to be squished horizontally. Although somewhat useful, there are much better books for beginners... with much cuter projects!

Rating: Summary: A great book for the beginner Embroiderer Review: This is a great book for anybody just starting to learn embroidery - and for those who are experienced and want some fast, fun projects to do. The book is exceedingly well set out - and the projects start from easy stitchery to more complex projects. There is lots of practical advice in it - from transferring designs to fabric, to framing your project. Scattered throughout the book are also some great tips. The stitch diagrams are well set out - and a joy to use and easy to follow. All in all - this is a "must have" book for all embroiderers and one that will be passed on through the generations.
