Review: There is no better way to sit out a snowstorm than with any book by John Brookes on gardening or garden planning. A real treat to me is Country Gardening. Mr Brookes, alto British, has an artist's understanding of garden forms world-wide. Not pedantic, many lovely photos, ideas, plant recommendations. Some confusion over common names but he also provides the taxonomic (Latin) names. Master gardeners and enthusiatic amateurs will appreciate.
