Review: I loved this book! Once I started it, I read it straight through to the end. Lois Arnold takes the reader on a ride that is totally unexpected and gripping. I had no idea that heart disease in dogs was as prevelant as it is or that open-heart surgery was an option. This book provides the reader with both a very extensive and cohesive education about heart disease and its remedies while also providing a foreground story that brought me to tears with its love and courage.

Review: I was throughly taken in from the first page on. Immence intensity jumps out from the writing, and one feels one is right there with the author during the whole depth of her involvement
with her beloved dog Carmel as they go through the trials of
canine open heart surgery.
I especially admire the author's open expression of the blossoming of her own spirituallity as the ordeal progresses.
Thanks for writing and sharing this amazing journey; a piece for all dog lovers as well as anyone else.
