Summary: Fullhouse
Review: After picking this book up and then putting it down at least a dozen times I finally jumped in with both feet. This was the second quilt I had done and I was a bit worried about my sewing abilities to maintain a proper seam allowance, but nonetheless I did it. My son is a John Wayne fan so it seemed only natural to use horse fabrics exclusively. May I say that it is so cute. If you want to do something flashy but easy, you really need this book. Every time you look at the finished product you'll feel yourself start swelling up with pride.

Summary: Love this pattern!!!!!!!
Review: I am a first time quilter as well. I decided to make a queen size quilt for my oldest son's wedding in June. I had bought many quilter's books and looked online for help and instructions. I was a mess trying to decide what to do. Then my 92 yr old grandmother came to visit. She is an expert quilter and a top seamstress. She had brought me this book to show me. I glanced at the instructions and then asked her if I could borrow it. I can't tell you how great this book is. It tells you step by step what to do, even in which direction to iron the seams. I did my 30 squares in 2 days. I took the blocks over to show my grandmother and she said she has never seen anyone do better. She said honestly, it was as if I had been quilting top quilts all my life. I have to give the credit to the instructions. I used the magnetic foot just as they suggested, I picked my fabrics close to the colors you see on the front and I ironed after every step. The back of my squares look as good as the front. I am really not trying to brag, I just can't emphasize what a great pattern this is for a beginner or even experienced quilter. I am not finished with my quilt yet, but what I do have finished I am more than estatic about! You can't go wrong with this pattern.

Summary: Winning Hand
Review: The pattern, card trick, had always fascinated me, but was never tried - not until I purchased the Winning Hand. This book proved to be extremely easy to follow, was thorough in its how to instructions, and helped me create a very enjoyable wall hanging/lap size quilt. Most patterns are not made a second time - this one will be made up several times in the future.

Summary: This is a "Winning Hand"!
Review: This is a great book! I had always wanted to do a quilt, but it just looked too involved and time consuming. I still consider myself a novice sewer and shy away from anything too complicated. But when I finally decided to do a quilt for my mother for Christmas this year, I spent countless hours seaching for the right pattern. I am one of those people who doesn't quite what they are looking for, but once they find it, BINGO! And that is what happened when I saw the Winning Hand. First of all the pattern was beautiful in its simplicity. But what was even better were the instructions. Talk about easy to follow!! I could not believe it! If you are a beginner and want to try your hand a quilt, I highly recommend this one. I love the card idea and the labeling of the different cards. It had made making this quilt some much fun and easy. My mother's is still in the working stage, but I can see that it will be beautiful. I have even started making plans to make myself one.
