Summary: I wouldn't recommend this for true beginners
Review: I saw the author on the HGTV channel and was particularly excited about 2 of the projects featured. After visiting Amazon, I also ordered another book, "The Artful Ribbon". The photography and projects featured in "The Splendor of Ribbon" are lovely, however, the directions (which one would need to actually learn how to make these flowers) just plain baffled me. The diagrams are not very helpful and frankly, I never could get past the first 2 sets of directions without total confusion. Frustrated, I went to "The Artful Ribbon" and found this to be the more instructive book. Sadly, I am returning "The Splendor of Ribbon", keeping "The Artful Ribbon" and upon others recommendations, ording Helen Gibbs book "The Secrets of Fashioning Ribbon Flowers".
