Summary: This Book Should Be Required Reading for Yorking Owners
Review: This review is first and foremost a "Thank You" to Sandra Lemire. I purchased 3 different books (including this one) prior to purchasing my new baby. I didn't particularly want a book with all the cutsy photographs of Yorkies; what I wanted was information. And, that's exactly what I got. I cannot say enough about this book. Had it not been for Sandra Lemire I would have lost "Becky" on two separate occations. I've even taken this book to my veterinarian so that he can make other Yorkie owners aware of the valuable information this book contains. My thanks again to Sandra Lemire; you've made me a more responsible "mom" to my Becky.

Summary: Great but scary
Review: Wonderful book that, as other readers point out, talks about dog care uniquely yorkie, rather than general dog info w/ cute fotos. I only wish Lemire had spent a little more time talking about potty training. My Max is good on the paper some days, lousy others. I want to be firm but fair with him, but could use more tips geared specifically to the needs/habits of such a wee bladder. Also more tips on general training... the capabilities of the Yorkshire Terrier, relative to other dogs. Also, while I'm glad to know all the things to watch out for, such as the propensity for these little dogs to launch themselves into space, the litany of Yorkie injuries was a times overwhelming. This one broke her pelvis, that one his hip, this one his neck, etc. Sobering stuff indeed. But overall the book's a great service. Thanks to Lemire.
