Summary: CARDS AND QUILTS
Review: Art quilting, a rather new form of expression in the art world, is vividly introduced in this generously illustrated and well written volume.

By using the universally recognized theme of a deck of cards, the viewer's eye is more easily drawn to the quilt as a work of art rather than the familiar warm cover.

Featuring designs by 54 different artists, the book begins with the traditional quilting method of stitching layers of fabrics together, and branches out into various interpretations and styles.

Each featured artist is profiled and the easy to follow techniques will make all of us want to pick up fabric, needle, and thread.

Summary: The Best Quilt Show Ever
Review: This book represents a museum show of all the cards in a full deck, each "card" an exquisit hand-crafted Art Quilt done by a master quilter from each U.S.state, plus two territories. If you want to be knocked out by genuis quilters, this is the book to get. The show was once at the Corchran Gallery in Washington DC.At one time the authors had a supply of decks of cards duplicating the quilts.
