Summary: The Simplified Hydroponics Workbook
Review: After using the book for 4 weeks I must say I love it. It is easy to follow and everything the book recommends WORKS! I especially liked the step by step algorithms and trouble shooting chart.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I might even buy a copy
Review: I borrowed my girlfriend's copy of the book. It is awesome. An easy book to understand. I would like to learn more about what brands of regular plant food they suggest, they should write another book about that and maybe make recommendations on where to buy premade systems. I give it a high rating because I made my system in a few hours with one of those premade table top fountains.

Summary: Absolutely useless piece of junk
Review: I live in Manhattan and had used this book as a guide to buy a small commercially available system. I have used this reference for about a year. The section on planting and lighting is excellent. Like the book says I have flowers in January. This year I will try growing mellons. I took key pages out and taped them next to my system for references. It was an easy read. I like the poetic style of writing.

Summary: Absolutely useless piece of junk
Review: I've been reading various books and reseraching onlie lately and this is the worst book I ever seen on the subject. In fact, this is not even a book it is printed on an ink-jet printer and doesn't even have page numbers, etc. If it has anything good content wise that wouldn't bother me but there is really no useful information in in either. ... I would recommend "How to Hydroponics" by Keith Roberto as it has a decent print quality and lot's of photos and a step by step structure.

Summary: Lack of substance
Review: My first disappointment with this "cult classic" is it arriving with several pages missing. Furthermore there is not much substance within and most topics are only briefly touched. However one section I liked is which plants grow in harmony, apart from that your money could be spent more wisely elsewhere. This book is cheap for a good reason.

Summary: The Simplified Hydroponics Workbook
Review: This is a simple, technically sound book. It is, in fact, very simply to understand because everything is reduced to flow charts. I enjoyed the book and feel encouraged to expand my participation in my hobby! It was inexpensive also.

Summary: Good Workbook
Review: Without knowing ANYTHING about the subject of botany or hydroponics I was able to use this workbook. It is NOT a textbook but a simple little how-to that works. The book is set up in steps covering everything from seed starting, to system building, to watering. There is no way the subject could be made easier. At first, I bought a rather large text book on the subject and I was totally freaked. I couldn't understand a word. I bought this book because the title said "simplified." That sums it up. After reading it and following the steps, I got great results.

I see that some people love it and some hate the book in the reviews on Amazon. I think if you are a science person with a love for complicated formulas and theory this is not the book for you. If you JUST WANT TO GROW PLANTS INDOORS WITHOUT ALOT OF GRIEF...you cannot buy a better book. My copy was NOT an inkjet copy as one of the other reviewers mentioned, so there may be two editions? I don't know. My edition was great. I also gave this book as a Christmas gift.

I would buy it again.
