Rating: Summary: About The Complete Guide to Glass Painting Review: I have just finished reading this book cover to cover and can't wait to start it again. It's written in a very friendly manner, as though the authors knew you personally. The instructions are detailed while easy to follow. It is packed with beautiful color illustrations. Most importantly, it contains techniques and applications that I could never have come up with on my own. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who is interested in painting on glass, regardless of your level of expertise. It's worth every penny!
Rating: Summary: Excellent book for beginner to intermediate Review: If you just are getting one book about glass painting to try the hobby out then this is a good choice. It has a good overview of the materials available, step by step instructions for different techniques and templates to trace over (glass is perfect for tracing ;-) so you can get started on some small projects. The color pictures are plentiful and pretty, and the price is not too high as one might expect with color pics. Even if you are just into crafts and later find that glass painting isn't your thing the templates and pics can carry over into other crafts.
This is a good book if you know you want to try glass painting out.
Rating: Summary: Good but far from complete Review: The techniques presented in this book is good enough for a beginner like me to get started. However, the projects given in this book was not enough to motivate me to try them. I've found that the book was not organised enough for a beginner to go through the projects and progress from there. Having said all this though, I still think that the book is a good reference to have and coupled with other books like Glass Painting (The Art of Crafts series) by Naazish Chouglay, you could learn more and appreciate the art as well as the techniques behind glass painting.
Rating: Summary: Inspirational! Review: This book is a wonderful guide for all techniques of glass painting. Some of the ideas are new, and the pictures help to show the 'how-to'. There are so many great ideas, it's hard for me to know where to start. The only thing I wish the authors had included is a list of sources. Some of the paint products I am unfamiliar with, and don't know what to look for at the store.

Rating: Summary: Full of techniques Review: What I love about this book is not so much its lovely projects, there are twenty five of them and 400 motifs. But it's extensive cover of glass painting techniques. If your the sort of person that likes to get ideas from books but want to make your own original works this book will guide you along with heaps of helpfull advice. There are heaps of ideas on outlining alone, tips on using a wide variety of paints including household ones, as well as etching, stencilling and working with glass and plastic. This book is printed in the UK but I have not found it any trouble to find the materials they are talking about here in Australia. A must have for any glass painter from beginner onwards.
