Summary: Nice book, but not *just right* for all stitchers
Review:

Small designs on every subject and for every occassion. The designs can be used well on household items, to decorate clothing, for ornaments, bookmarks and small gift bags and tags. Color charts. Chapters include:

Florals; For Little Ones (children); Symbols of Love; Christmas Fun; Santas and Snowmen; Borders and Patterns; Country Patterns; Americana; Year-Round Holidays; Nature Designs; Animals; Alphabets and Numbers; Sports, Professions and Pastimes; Cross-Stitch Basics; From Start to Finish (tips and techniques); Specialty Stitches; Patterns & Instructions; Extensive Index

This book is perfect for the stitcher that likes to take various motifs, and put them together in her own way rather than for the stitcher that likes to have a complete project to stitch and finish "just like the picture." I like the myriad of designs, but find that when I use the book, I need to make a working copy that I enlarge to make reading the charts easier. I've used some of the Borders and Patterns for creating bookmarks. There are lots of great idea starters here.

Summary: itty bitty pretties
Review: a girl I work with loaned this book to me because I love anything that has fantasy stuff about it, and this one has a whole page of fairies, dragons, castles even a knight! as well as a bunch of nice things for other projects! and the largest one can't be over 4 inches so they are good for quick little projects! I loved it so much, I had to buy it!

Summary: If you're like me . . . you'll love it!
Review: From reading the other reviews here, I guess I'm what you'd call a "beginning stitcher"! I haven't got a huge cross-stitch library, and this book (a gift from my Mom) is GREAT for me! The number of the designs is terrific, and the varied topics, too (flowers, kids' motifs, alphabets, holidays, etc.) really make it useful. I love flipping through and finding something to go on a baby bib, hand towel, or other gift (the designs, being small, are a great fit!). But the main reason I like this book is that the actual designs are REALLY NICE--meaning classy! How many times have you dismissed a cross stitch book because the designs were just too tacky or choppy? Why do so many designers "countrify" everything, or make the same blocky-looking bunnies and ducks over and over? I'm so picky, but this book satisfies my tastes--good stuff here! For example, the flower section is so pretty, they've got me stitching flowers all over (and I'm not a real flowery type!). So, if this sounds like you--GET this book NOW!

Summary: Great Book Jam-Packed With IDeas!
Review: I absolutely love this book! It has so many fun designs and great ideas. I also find it extremely helpful that there are full color photographs of each finished design as a companion to the actual design chart. This book has something for everyone, with many different subjects, borders, and alphabets. I plan to use this book a great deal, and it will always be an important staple in my cross stitch library. :)

Summary: Great Reference
Review: I bought this book after receiving a flyer in the mail when it was first published. It has so many differnt designs to stitch, and I think it is really excellent for people that want lots of quick stitch designs, as well as for people who want to put the designs together to make something larger.
I was looking for this book just last night to put together a sampler project and discovered my mother in law never returned it to me. This is such a great resource people feel inclined to steal it from you so watch out!

Summary: FABULOUS DESIGNS
Review: I was truly impressed with this book. I learned how to cross-stitch a long time ago and had since forgotten alot of things. This book was perfect to get back into it and refresh my memory without overdoing it and making myself crazy. They also have diagrams of the stitches in the back of the book. Great for me, who can never remember the French Knot. This book came in very handy at Christmas time when I ran out of ideas for my family. I'm constantly picking it up and combining designs now to make my own creations. I recommend this book to any cross-stitcher out there.

Summary: AMAZING - perfect for all stitchers
Review: The designs are lovely, and this book distinguishes itself from others like Koolers' in that each and every design is shown not only in chart form, but also photographed as a finished piece. This is invaluable to me as a beginning stitcher.

There are so many designs in here...I love looking thru the book over and over again, thinking of the possibilities available to me as I strive to become a "domestic goddess". HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Summary: Its O.K
Review: This book is full of tons of ideas to help get you started on any custom cross-stitch project. Designs are organized into categories such as flowers, hearts, valentines, baby, Christmas, borders, etc. For each category, there are two pages: the first shows the final stitched versions for many small designs in that theme, and the second contains the charts and instructions for each design. The book is well-organized, but the charts can be hard to read. Also, because the finished designs are done on a variety of colored Aida cloths, the pictures sometimes loose their sharpness.

This book contains many designs but no actual projects. At the end of the book, there are suggestions for how to incorporate the designs into various finished projects such as a keychain or ornament, but these are not complete project instructions. However, if you are creative, this is a great book to help you come up with your own projects. Looking for a design for a baby bib? Check out the wide varieties of infant- and child-themed designs. Need to enhance an existing project with a flower? You'll find various types of floral designs here. Several different cross-stitch alphabets are also included at the end. Overall, this book contains a large variety of designs appropriate for many custom projects.

Summary: So many ideas...
Review: This is a wonderful book.

It includes hundreds of small designs from which you can create larger designs. The books includes sections on holidays, flowers and interesting alphabets.

The directions are clear and accurate. They are presented to scale and this is most helpful (you don't have to count squares to figure out the size of the piece). The The book is also very handsome. I highly recommend it.
