Rating: Summary: Excellent Collector's Resoure Book! Review: As a Beatles Fan, I had to have this book for my personal research. There are literally thousands of entries, and there is much emphasis on detail. If, for example you are looking for the value of The Beatles '65 album, there are many different descriptions, ensuring that you have the right copy of the album in your collection. My only disappointment is that the values are so significantly varied. One record is worth $2,000, the same one with an ever-so-slight difference is valued at 10 bucks. One time I thought a record I had just bought for $50 was worth more than my car, then was let down hard when I found out I actually paid too much! The Official Guide to The Beatles is nonetheless an invaluable source of information and I wouldn't be without it! Neither should you!

Rating: Summary: This book is supposed to be good? Review: I have to say I was very disappointed with this book, especially after reading the Amazon reviews. The memorabilia section, especially, did not meet my expectations. In fact, most of the book is dedicated to the records, and there are many other books on that subject. And the pictures that accompany the text are ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. There are no captions and the quality is horrible - they look like 12th generation copies of copies. The quality is so poor that you can't even discern some of them from each other. Furthermore, Some of the differences in the labels have to do with COLOR -- and yet most of the label pictures are in B&W. Bottom line -- will someone step up and write a better book?
Rating: Summary: Official price guide for the Beatles records and memorabilia Review: It doesn`t matter if you have been collecting the Beatles for years or a novice just starting out, this book has something for everyone.Chock full of details like label variations and year of release. What better way to find the value of your record collection than by the experts, and Mr. Cox certainly is that.He has been writing the only official guide to the Beatles records for years. Now,this book is in a handy size so you can take it along to yard sales where you`ll know if you`ve found that treasure or not.For ebayers, this book is a money saver. No more,"I sold it too cheap cause I didn`t know the value" Highly recomended.
Rating: Summary: The Ultimate Beatles Research and Pricing Guide.. Review: Perry Cox is the world renowned expert on Beatles records and other collectibles. The man simply has an encyclopedic knowledge of their recordings. This is the ultimate pricing and descriptive guide to their records, covering vinyl in all forms issued in the USA (which means it doesn't cover import versions) and CDs, with other collectibles touched on in its final pages. The emphasis here is clearly on Beatles LPs, EPs, 45s, and CDs, both group efforts, and solo releases. If you are a Beatles collector or want to start a collection, or learn how much your existing collection could be worth, this is the book you want and need. There is no other reference that can touch it. Some of the photographs are poor, but I'd chalk that up more to the printing process than anything. If you need to know EVERY variation of Sgt. Pepper's that Capitol/Apple ever released, or the nuances of the differences in all the pressings of any other Beatles LP, EP, 45, or CD that you can think of, this is your book. Perry's long essay on the "Butcher Cover" version of Yesterday and Today is, alone, worth the price of admission. With prices of Beatles collectibles still soaring, with vinyl getting more and more valuable as the years go by, you need to be armed out there in the marketplace, whether you are buying or selling. You can't do any better than to foray out there with this book in hand.
Rating: Summary: Go Perry Go!! Review: The DEFINITIVE Beatles price guide...Exhaustive info-fest on ALL U.S. Beatle and Beatle related stuff. Great info regarding counterfeit items and label variations. Although this wouldn't be considered a "coffee table" book, the pics are FINE and the eight page color section is a nice touch. Mindboggling in it's scope and obviously a labor of love, the Official Price Guide To The Beatles: Records and Memorabilia is a great read for ANY Beatles fan, and has probably sent many Beatles collectors back to the basement to re-evaluate their records...
Rating: Summary: Useful And Informative; Don't Leave Home Without It! Review: The previous red-cover edition of this book was known as "The Red Bible" among collectors and dealers. This new edition, sporting an attractive blue cover, is more than an update of prices. It is an improved guide that adds new items and corrects misinformation that has appeared in Beatles books and record price guides since the beginning of recorded Beatles history. In addition to pricing thousands of records, tapes, CDs and memorabilia items, the book contains entertaining feature articles. You'll need this book every time you go to a record show or flea market as well as when you consider making on-line bids. This will quickly be known as "The Blue Bible."
Rating: Summary: An outstanding price giude Review: WOW! You really can't go wrong with this guide. Every recorded listing is here. Tips on how to tell fakes, concise info regarding the original pressings and the large re-issue output. If you're looking for "War And Peace ", then you're missing the point. Perry Cox has assembled a price guide. It's not meant to be a coffee table book. Better pictures? Sure, they could be enhanced for some extra enjoyment, but you buy a book like this as a collector for the info, pricing and detail. As far as I'm concerned, Perry delivers in spades! I've seen plenty of other guides and they are LOADED with errors. Perry's price guide is the "War And Peace" of the Beatles' price guides. If you want a coffee table research piece, check out the Bruce Spizer books. You're buying Perry's book for the subject it covers, and it's all here.
