Summary: Beautiful book
Review: I acquired this book at about the same time I started taking courses in Jewellery design. The images and the deceptively easy breakdown of processes inspired me to be ambitious with my own work. This is certainly one of those books designed to get you enthusiastic about working in the craft, even if many of the techniques are not for the beginner.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great perspective on Jewelry
Review: I enjoy this book because it supplies a visibly european slant to the methods and techniques contained within it. I enjoy that because most the books you will find on jewelry fabrication are all written in english by Americans. We need to see more books with a decidedly european influence like this one. This book gives the jeweler a larger perspective on what others are doing around the world. I bought this book and plan on getting others by Carles Codina.

Summary: Great techniques book
Review: This book is great for intermediate to advanced metalsmiths. It provides detailed instructions in many basic techniques as well as some more obscure. Find hints on making hinges, clasps, settings. Basic metalsmithing techniques are well covered. Patination, reticulation, granulation and many others are well described.
