Review: Although this book has been extremely helpful for me and my BC, I cannot ignore the lack of writing skills throughout. I feel safe in assuming that manuals such as these are usually not scrutinized for their mastery of English grammar and word usage, but this book is also structurally poor. I would suggest a different book without seeing any of them.

Review: I adopted two border collies before I knew what I had gotten myself into. This book gave me a greater insight into the nature and mindset of the breed. If I had this book before I got my dogs, I would have saved myself some time and frustration. This is an excellent book, with practical information. It is straightforward and enjoyable to read.

However, the book is mainly made up of general information on training, dog sports, nutrition, health, and breeding which could be found in many other books. I would have liked to see more specific information pertaining to the breed itself and/or herding.
