Summary: Excellent Book & Techniques
Review: I am a wire sculpture / glass artist I have not seen such eye stopping work such as this. I bought the book unseen by title not exactly sure what I would get most books are rather disappointing, and was very pleased with it. The pictures and description were excellent and very easy to follow. I was able to sit down and compelte the first project with out problems but as with all new techniques it does take it a while to be proficent at it.

Summary: Response to Anna Powers' Review
Review: I would like to clear up a misunderstanding about my review of Woven Wire Jewelry in Art Jewelry magazine. I do not think my review "panned" the book; in fact, I think that the positives of this book far outweigh the negatives. My only concern was that there were not as many wire techniques as I would have liked to have seen. I think this book is worthwhile, and I did mention in my review that it does a good job of introducing readers to wireweaving, that it has a great tools and equipment list, and that it is a good buy for the beginning wireworker.

Summary: The BEST How-To I've Ever Seen
Review: If you are interested in bending wire or scuplting wire you've got to add this book to your library. It is, without a doubt, the most descriptive book I've ever seen. The book has a section (with pictures) showing exactly what tools and supplies you will need and it is truly comprehensive. You can make all the projects in the book with these few tools. Next, although you would think people who work with sharp things would handle them safely, there is a very good section on safety that is a good review even for those with common sense (might save an eye when that wire is flying around). And then, the pictures! Each movement needed is shown with a photograph that is detailed and large enough to actually see what is being done. Christine Ritchey has put this book together wonderfully. The accompanying instructions are beside each picture in a block form. If you take your time - and don't skip around - you can, in a short time, create a beautiful piece of jewelry. The key, from there on is to practice, practice, practice. The artist, Linda Chandler, has been doing this for quite sometime and it shows what can be done in the pictures of her other works. These perfectly set up interest in a new book that you hope will be coming. As a matter of fact, there will be a new book soon - watch for it on Amazon.com. It's coming from InterWeave Press - the perfect publisher for this book. Warning: this art becomes addictive - you even dream about it! Truly a joy to own and to do.

Summary: Weave Away
Review: It took me one night a few hours that is to read the whole book. The material is easy to read and understand and the pictures are great. I was hoping to see more of the basket weave how to in this book,so that was a little let down. The first part of the book was what i wanted especially when it comes to clasp and hooks.

I'm not into polymer clay, but this looked rather interesting and very pretty, who knows i just may do that also. For the beginner into this art form the beginning of the book on the tools and safety is a must.

All put together i found a few tips to help me better my work even tho i do it left handed haha. A good read and job well done.

Summary: Woven Wire Jewelry
Review: The new and beautiful new magazine, Art Jewelry, has panned this book. I had decided to skip it based on the review. I just had a look at a friend's copy and I'm going to buy it. It is very detailed and the PMC stuff in the end is interesting.

Summary: Creating wonderful wire jewelry...
Review: This book is the type of book you cherish. It gives your mind the initiative to challenge yourself and create great pieces of art jewelry. Very detailed instructions (words and pictures) and also what to do when mistakes happen. I like every piece of jewelry in this book - a rarity from someone who has bought many jewelry instruction books. I can't wait to try the PMC blossom and design a wire necklace to wear it on. I feel very priviledged to have taken a few classes from Linda and just finished "the woven bracelet" today. Going into this project I thought that this would be a "practice piece" but I've already had an offer to buy it. Linda has so much knowledge to share with her wire-wrapping techniques. Even if you aren't lucky enough to live in Indiana and get a "real live class" this book is the next best thing - a great source of reference, wonderful pictures to spark your creativity, and invaluable knowledge that has taken her years to create. It is awesome when an artist will share her/his techniques and thoughts so we can all benefit in the world of creativity. We can only hope that there will be several books to follow.

Summary: Best on the market to date! Detailed/Easy to Follow!!!
Review: This book is well written with detailed step by step, easy to follow instructions. The illustrations are top notch! Bend by Bend of each wire. Very easy to follow and very detailed!
This is a must for any craftsman interested in making wire jewelry.
Linda and Christine have done an excellent job in taking what appears to be a craft that only top notch craftsman would be able to do, and tell the secrets of how to make breathtaking, one of a kind jewelry items that you can wear with pride!
The knowledge that you receive from this book is priceless and will teach you a craft that will help you rise above the rest!
Thank you Linda! you ARE the queen of weave! :)

Summary: A How-To Masterpiece
Review: This book sets a new standard for how-to books: its clearly written instructions and photo captions provide individual steps to be taken, plus the result of that step if done correctly ("Attach the clasp to the loops. The clasp should move freely and hang straight down when you lift the bracelet"). No more worry about "Have I done this correctly?". The instructional photos are clear and contain no distracting elements. The inspirational photos are elegant and exciting. The tools section is helpful for a beginner, and I am also glad to see a section on safety. The addition of pmc projects that either utilize braided wire or complete a braided wire project are helpful introductions to this relatively new form of silver, and provide the jewelry maker with skills to customize each of their creations.

Summary: Woven Wire
Review: This is a great book for wire and PMC artists. The guide for tools and simple, detailed instructions were excellent, with step-by-step pictures. I think this is a wonderful resource book and would recommend it to anyone interested in jewelry making. The variety of samples are simplistic to exquisite. I appreciate the artist sharing her work.

Summary: If only all How-to books were like this one
Review: This should be a model for how-to books. Each step along the way has a clear, easily understood explanation with an equally clear photo accompanying it. Every design has a complete tool list and materials list. You won't go looking for other books on the same subject because something was left out of this one. If I had only one criticism it would be that the next book of more advanced woven jewelry designs isn't out yet.
