Summary: Another great one
Review: Cat Vs. Cat is a very informative, easy-to-read book that has will keep your interest. I've read many cat books like this, and it is just as good as any. It's great for a first-time cat owner, or for an experiencd one who has some questions or needs to brush up on there cat skills. I recommend everyone to read this even if they do not have any kitty problems!

Summary: A good behavioral book for multicat homes
Review: I am struggling with a number of feline behavioral disorders in my own family, but this book truly shed light on methods to correct these issues. From the beginning, Johnson-Bennett takes the standpoint of analyzing cat behaviors in the context of a multicat household. She covers issues such as litterbox use, timidness, aggression and dicipline.

From reading this book, I added many new regimes to my treatment plan for remeding with cat-cat interaction - using catnip, increasing playtime, training methods, etc. Armed with the knowledge from this book, I went forth and began working to help my cat through her behavioral problems, and after only a few short weeks the issues were resolved! I completely credit this book with giving me the knowledge and understanding to better tackle this problem and create a peaceful environment for both my cats and my family.

The book is an easy read and chocked full of information for multi-cat households. I would recommend it to anyone struggling to find resolve to behavioral issues of their feline friends. If you're looking for books specific to single cat families, she has also written "Think like a cat: How to raise a well-adjusted cat, not a sour puss" which contains training information from kittenhood to senior life (also a great read).

Summary: Pam has outdone herself with this fabulous book!
Review: I love this book because it describes a behavior (such as petting-induced aggression), then tells you why your cat is exhibiting the behavior and gives you an actual treatment plan!

Each behavior is explained in a short, concise manner, as are the treatment plans.

I enjoyed the section where Pam tells the true effect catnip has on your cat. She goes on to tell you how to use catnip, when to use it, why to use it, etc. It really makes you understand the positive aspects!

Also, there is a section called Playtime with Pizzazz. This is wonderful! She goes through it step-by-step. Example:

• Don't forget the sound effects
• The successful pounce and capture
• Wind the action down gradually
• Don't send mixed messages to your cat
• Play tips for timid cats
• Playtime reminders

Playtime with my cats is so much fun now!

Summary: Quit your day job
Review: In response to this lifestyle-change manual written on a second-grade level, I have sent my husband an e-mail. It is as follows:

Dearest Husband:
We need to buy about 30 interactive toys tonight so that they are always within reach at a moment's notice in a drawer or under a couch cushion in case one of the cats tries to sneak up on another. Actually, I need to spend two play sessions of 15 minutes each daily with each inidividual cat, in addition to making sure they don't bully each other, concurrently constructing massive tunnels, staircases, and cat trees and window perches. Also, we need to make a detailed map of whose territory is whose and position trees, perches, litterboxes, and food accordingly. We also need to grow a pot of grass for each cat and clean the litterboxes after each time they go (meaning several times daily). Also, we need to buy them premium feather-down pillows and always keep freshly laundered stacks of towels and tee shirts available at all resting stations in the house. We need to buy plenty of rodent/bird/snake sound CDs and cat entertainment videos featuring Flutter the Butterfly and Greeny Grass. We should probably also subscribe to a satellite channel that features such programs and have it on 24 hours a day. If I get pregnant we need to record my niece crying and screaming and making other baby noises to get the cats accostumed to those sounds before the baby is born. But I'm only halfway through the book-- I'll send the rest of the new rules when I finish it.

Can I quit working now to be a stay-at-home cat mom?

Your Crazy Wife Whose Excessive Cat Coddling Takes Precendence Over You And All Other Humans

This book has good ideas but is entirely too boring to read due to its intelligence-insulting language, crappy editing, and superfluous suggestions. Common sense works just as well. I gave it one star because it was so bad that it was humorous.
