Rating: Summary: All the good recipes are on the internet Review: After looking for recipes on the internet and finding quite a few good ones that were from Three Dog Bakery, I decided to purchase the book. It was a mistake. The recipes are not practical. Most (98%) are not intended for treats, and 1/2 of them I know my dogs wouldn't eat. I tried a few like Banana Mutt Cookies, Lazy Bones Carob Balls, pizza and took them to a dog show and NONE of the dogs would eat them. The useful Three Dog Bakery recipes are on the net.
Rating: Summary: happy dogs Review: Although i have yet to try all of the recipes in this book, the ones that i have tried have more than gone over well. at times, while cooking, i had to stop and remind myself that i was not cooking a dinner for myself, but for my dogs. (the recipes are that good) Although a little bland for human consumption, a definite hit amongst canine companions. These are safe, healthy alternatives to the same old dry dog food every night. A must for dog lovers.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: Both of the recipes I tried were total flops. I made the Savory Scraps on p. 55. It is supposed to produce 9 squares from an 8 X 8 pan, but the result was a crumbly, non-cuttable mixture that I had to stir into the dog food. The other recipe, Mutther's Day Puppy Seed Bread on p. 64 turned out burned on the edges, raw in the center, and unedible for my dog. I pride myself in being a good cook who can follow a recipe. I think they failed to verify their ingredient lists for these 2 recipes. I hesitate to try any more of the recipes. Perhaps they didn't verify the ingredient list. My dog likes the food and the notations in the cookbook are very cute, but I think the customer should expect the recipes to turn out.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful cookbook! Review: I live in Kansas City and frequent Three Dog Bakery with my dog Cooper. Recently, I purchased this book and could not be happier. The recipes contained within are wonderful. I find it improbable that the previous reviewer had his/her baking rejected by an entire dog show. Such a review is highly dubious. (Perhaps it says more about the reviewers cooking skill...) My advice? Look at the rest of the reviews. Then buy the book.
Rating: Summary: My Dogs LOVE these homemade treats! Review: I read Amazing Gracie, which prompted me to check out the Three Dog Bakery Cookbook. I have made many of the recipes in the book, and they have all turned out GREAT! My dogs know when I'm about to whip up a batch of treats when I grab the cookbook; they join my in the kitchen and attentively watch me. I really enjoy making the treats in this book, even more so than cooking for humans. The recipes are easy, you probably have most of the ingredients in your kitchen, so get this book and have a good time with your best friends!
Rating: Summary: My Dog Loved This Book! (I Did, Too!) Review: I received a copy of the Three Dog Bakery cookbook for Christmas. I immediately ordered several more copies to give to all my dog-loving friends. This book, written by the founders of the Three Dog Bakery chain of dog bakeries, is full of the fun that seems to be the mainstay of their "bakery for dogs". We have already baked two of the recipes. They were very simple to make and to say my dogs loved them would be a great understatement. I'm thankful to still have my fingers! I felt like Jake and Tony (the two most beautiful labs in the world) knew I was cooking something for them. One thing I loved about the 3 Dog Cookbook was the funny artwork and little "factoids" that are on every page. The book is a delight and a must-have companion for any home cooks who love their dogs (or just anyone who loves their dog!). We loved it! Jake and Tony say it's droolicious!
Rating: Summary: Great recipes for your pooch Review: I've only made one recipe, the Carob muffins, but they were super easy & my dog, a pug & his cousin, a Min Pin loved them. The rest of the recipes appear to be just as easy. As far as the person's comments about the raisins...they are only harmful to dogs in large quantities.
Rating: Summary: Not bad...but.... Review: Some of the recipes are easy biscuits which Droopy likes. Many are meals like pasta, etc. It's an interesting book but it gets major negative doggie points for including recipes with raisins -- grapes are toxic to dogs. I am also not sure I trust other aspects of their recipe development. I made pineapple cookies which Droopy did enjoy eating, but I tried giving him a plain pineapple and he would not touch it -- does this mean I'm buying a can of pineapple for the recipe just because it makes it seem more tasty to the humans making it? Some are also no brainers, e.g., turkey burgers. Well yes, dogs are going to like eating turkey burgers but they also like the hamburger sitting on your plate, too, and I didn't need to buy a dog cookbook for that. That said, the recipes I've tried so far have impressed Droopy's pals, so that's why I'm not giving this a rock bottom rating.

Rating: Summary: A Fun Book and Very Clever! Review: We have not ever been to a Three Dog Bakery, but we have seen their show on TV. I bought a copy of this book and ended up giving it to my neighbor's daughter who loved it so much, it made me go out and buy another copy! This book has many recipes you can make or bake at home for your dogs. My two dogs, McBeth (a yorkie) and Dolly (a pointer/mix?) loved the things I made for them. Plus they were EASY to make!!!!!! It was full of cute cartoons and trivia bits too, which make it interesting.
