Summary: There is a far superior resource...
Review: There is a far superior resource than this publication available. The breadth of brands covered in Watches International 2000 and the depth of coverage are questionable at best. While most of the information is organized well and presented in a seemingly objective fashion, at times, the focus of this book seemed to be on marketing rather than on the watches themselves. For instance, the section on Bedat appeared to come straight out of a Bedat advertisement. Sections like this beg the question, "Did certain makers contribute generously to the financing of this publication?" Furthermore, some of the makers that have been included seem to have been selected based on their watches' high ticket prices rather than on the maker's ability to make a superior timepiece. If objective information on fine timepieces is what you are looking for, spend your money on Wristwatch Annual 2000 by Peter Braun instead.

Summary: STAND AND DELIVER!
Review: This magazine is drenched with wonderful, exotic photographs and facts -- definitely worth buying! From the classiest of designs to the mind altering precession, you will lose sleep over the "Master Watchmakers" section and probably sell all your valuable goodies to get a hold of one of these "living" watches...or all of them. Yes, you'll see and read about Vincent Calabrese, Kiu Tai Yu, De Grisogono, Girard-Perregaux, the new "Crystale" Concord, Zannetti, Daniel Roth, Cartier, Parmigiani's "Skeleton" and other style lords. But where are the following watches: Cartier's "Jump Hour Tank", Vacheron's "Mystery Dial", Audemar's "John Schaffer", Ulysse Nardin's "Erotic" and the Dubey & Schaldenbrand collection? However, the price quotes on some of the watches, histories and many important details made up for the lost pleasures. And besides, it will be your task to ravage the internet to dig up the (unmentioned) treasures. So, stand and deliver!
