Description:

If life finds you goin' to the chapel 'cause you're gonna get married, make sure to bring along this lovely package on your journey. The Wedding Box combines traditional and modern elements with the unique artistic eye of photographer Joe Buissink for a set of books and note cards that delight the eye and fill a very practical need for spouses-to-be. Inside this sturdy keepsake box, you'll find three books and a set of 12 cards with envelopes. Each card is the perfect size for a short thank-you note, with the front of each card featuring one of four different photographs from the large enclosed book, Nuptials. All in black and white, the card photos are charming, from the fairytale bride against weathered brick to the fancy silver cloud with its "Just Married" plates. Certainly, the cards inspire an instant dive through the Nuptials book, where each of the gorgeous photos are coupled with a short, elegant poem from the likes of E.E. Cummings, Rainer Maria Rilke, and John Keats. While groomsmen, bridesmaids, and couples are featured in many photos, the brides are especially unique, showing us that the rite of marriage isn't just limited to young people. The two smaller books serve a practical purpose: one is a simple 48-page guest register, and the other is a wedding planner that encompasses everything from the first date to the honeymoon. While the covers of each of these present two more Buissink photos, the inside pages are meant for your personal writings and are elegantly plain. As a gift for yourself or a close friend embarking on the journey of marriage, it would be hard to choose a lovelier or more practical gift. --Jill Lightner
