Rating: Summary: Extrordinary Review: This book, and it's sequel are 2 of the best books that I have ever read in my entire life! If you love animals and animal stories, then this is a book for you. And when you're done with this book go on to it's sequel, The Blessing of the Animals. It's written by the same author as the first book. I would HIGHLY RECCOMMENED this book and the sequel.
Rating: Summary: the dog who rescues cats Review: This books was truely inspiring to me. Because of this book I have started helping my sister and brother-in-law to feed strays in their area. My husband and I have built a kitty condo for them. I tell everyone that likes animals to read Philips books. I am also starting a web page in the hopes of helping more cats. This book helped me to focus on what I love, CATS. And has given new meaning to my life. Thank you Ginny, Philip and Sheila, St. Francis would be most proud of you. Best wishes from Chicago!
Rating: Summary: Dog who rescues Humans Review: This is a heart warming story for all cat and dog people. It is a tale of hope, motivation and love. Buy one for yourself read it and then buy several copies for friends and family. Money raised from the sale of the book also goes towards the efforts of these two.

Rating: Summary: This is a great book. It makes you keep reading!!!!!! Review: This is an excellent book. It makes you keep reading it until you have finished it. It is nice to know there are people out there who would help animals like Philip Gonzalez does. Ginny is an incredible dog who has a great gift. If you like books about animals you will love this book!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Dog who rescues Humans Review: This isn't the best written, most riveting book; however it tells an important story. Yes it is about a dog who rescues cats, but really it is a about a human and a dog who rescued a human. The author is clearly a proud man who would not want to talk much about his disability or poverty now, but to me, how his friend and his animals helped him adjust to his disability is the story. Ginny brought him through thinking "I can't do that. I'm disabled" to "How do I do that despite my disability." The dog also lead him to find a calling, a reason to live. Now that is not a little story.
Rating: Summary: You'll love it, you'll buy a copy for every animal lover Review: We bought a copy for our own family and loved it so much we bought one for both our mothers. Who bought one for their nieces who love cats, who bought one for their sisters who love cats and dogs. This book has made its way through our entire extended family and everyone kept their copy. Nobody wanted to part with it to pass it on! It is a charming story of a little beloved adopted dogs' compassion for lost cats. You will be as charmed as we all were.
Rating: Summary: Cute, but overdone and repetitious Review: You've read books like this one-true stories that start out touching and heartwarming, but before long you realize that someone has instructed the author and the author's "co-writer" to s-t-r-e-t-c-h out the story to make a full-length book. The story of Ginny is an interesting one, but it can't carry the book. Too bad Ginny's owner and chief author Philip Gonzalez couldn't pull the story together with either more of his own feelings and thoughts about how Ginny changed his life and why, or some research into similar phenomena to help place his and Ginny's story in a wider context. As it stands, Philip begins to repeat himself midway through the book and I began to hope that something, anything would happen to keep my attention. Luckily, nothing tragic happens to Ginny (and I don't mean to imply that there is any build-up of tension in the book to suggest that something might), but neither does much happen to Philip or his neighbor-who some might expect to become a love interest. Too bad, because the descriptions of Philip's life before he suffers a horrible injury on the job make him sound like a fun guy. Was it just that he wasn't comfortable revealing his innermost thoughts to his co-author or does he really have none? By the time I read "I believe Ginny is an angel" for the fourth or fifth time, I was ready to throw this syrupy little book against the wall
