Rating: Summary: This is the bible of carnivorous plants. Review: This book gives ALOT of very good and useful information from feeding your plants all the way to the rarest sundew. If you've ever even thought about growing carnivorous plants, you HAVE to get this book.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever Written On The Topic Review: This book is a must for anyone who loves CP's. The book is well written, the pictures are great, and the recommendations on how to grow CP's are presented in a clear format. There is no question in my mind that this is the best book written on the topic since Slack's Carnivorous Plants and How To Grow Them. Great Job Peter!!
Rating: Summary: If all plant books could be written like this... Review: This book is comprehensive, well organized and fun to read. The plentiful photos and illustrations are wonderful and really piques the curiousity on these amazing and beautiful plants. The author gives you exact information on the care and cultivation of each plant (not just a shoddy generalization on the care of a certain genus like other books out there). The book is printed on quality paper yet compact enough to lug it with you anywhere. Great information on terrariums and other artificial conditions.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This book is great for anyone wanting to learn more about carnivorous plants. I highly recommend it!!
Rating: Summary: Peter shows off his extensive experience in this book. Review: This book should be on the "must have" list of any serious, or even semi-serious collector. Peter takes a look at the many genera of carnivorous plants in sometimes-humorous, but always detailed descriptions of the plants and how to grow them. His experience in the field of carnivorous gardening shows through in every page. The descriptions are wonderful, the photographs are magnificent and the growing tips should help even the worst black-thumbed gardener get a start growing these fascinating plants.
Rating: Summary: The Premier Guidebook on Carnivorous Plants Review: This has got to be the best book in print about raising carnivorous plants. There is a lot of practical and down-to-earth advice. I especially like that Hewitt uses everyday language to discuss the plants, and even throws in some humor in his discussions, i.e. cobra plants. . . buy one and enjoy its beauty now, because they are really hard to keep, and this is the best it will ever look. . .
