Review: I definitely saved $500 by buying this book, and would definitely recommend it. I thought I was an Internet wizard (working on the Internet and all), but this book turned me on to very helpful sites I never would have found in Google. It's a small investment, and well worth it.

Summary: Don't plan a wedding without it!
Review: After becoming engaged, I, like most prospective brides, bought several "wedding" books. After reading the others (or, in most cases, perusing the glossy photos of zillion-dollar dresses, cakes, flowers, etc...) I put them on a shelf where they have gathered dust (hey, a wedding planning bride doesn't have THAT much time for dusting, does she?) Not so with Bridal Bargains! My copy is dog-eared, highlighted, and liberally stuffed with post-it notes. No one else in those magazines and websites devoted to weddings will tell you the real dirt that you need to know to navigate the deceptive practices in this business. (They know which side their bread is buttered on, after all). Ladies, this book will save you money, but more importantly it will give you confidence in your knowledge, and that's no small thing since most of us have never planned a wedding before. Good luck!

Review: I'm a library book browser, too, but I felt I had to BUY this book as it is an excellent reference. It has helped me see all the different options for buying things. I learned that I didn't have to give things up--which was my first thought since I am on a strict budget. I could shop smart and still have an elegant wedding.I am using the section on photographers this week as I interview them. Otherwise I wouldn't have known what to ask. I already feel smarter just with a couple of tips from that chapter. I love the feeling that the writers are on MY side, not on the side of the wedding industry. And yet their advice is not necessarily for an alternative, funky kind of a wedding (not that there's anything wrong with that!) but solid consumer helps for every type of wedding.

Review: This is one of the best books out there for brides. It's well written and organized. It will save you money. The advise is very pratical and useful. It covers everythig about a wedding and how to save money. And it offers a variety of web sites to go to.

Summary: "Worth buying" (& I strongly believe in using the library)
Review: I've read most every book out there, & have found this to be one one the best. Most of the wedding books recycle old, and usually tacky ideas on how to save money-- this book is an exception. It gives sound advise on how to save money in ways the average consumer would have little way of knowing otherwise. The section on finding bridal gowns at reasonable prices is excellect information I've not found anywhere else. I originally read this book on loan from the library (generally a good practice), but it was helpful enough & has so many resources that I am now buying it.

Summary: Avoid Bridal Gown Nightmares
Review: This book is fantastic. It will save you money and heartaches.
Read it before you do anything. The authors give you the truthful run down on pitfalls to avoid, what to ask, and how to protect yourself. I have to admit I was depressed after reading the bridal gown section but it was information I had to hear. I would never have known all the things to look for and would have blindly walked into a potential dissapointing situation. Better a little depressed before hitting the stores then after the fact or worse yet right before the wedding.

Review: I've always considered myself very organized. I love to plan things but when I got engaged and had to start all this wedding planning - I had no idea where to start... I looked through a number of books and magazines, as a result I firmly believe that this book is the only book you need to plan your wedding and save money! No, you won't find colorful pictures of gowns and hairstyles - but you'll find TRUTHFUL reviews of all major designers and also listings of their websites. Awesome $$$$-saving tips, great personalization ideas. You'll learn what to do and when... what kinds of questions to ask... what to do if something goes wrong... ANYTHING you need to know to plan your wedding. I strongly recommend this book, you simply must buy it.

Summary: Buy it for the bridal-gown section alone
Review: You must buy this book if you are planning a wedding. You MUST buy this book! Buy it the minute you get engaged. Do not go dress shopping or to a bridal fair until you read it. The section on dresses outlines so many tips that you will feel like an expert when you walk in the door of any bridal shop. I read this and, using one of their tips, purchased a bridesmaid's dress for my informal wedding for $150 -- $300 less than the shop was charging for a nearly identical bride's dress! I can't recommend this book highly enough!!

Summary: The BEST wedding planning book I've read
Review: I bought a number of wedding planning books, and this was by far the best. Within a week it was dog-eared, underlined, and full of sticky notes. I found a bunch of great advice on how to get the best value for my dollar--not just how to put together a "cheap" wedding. I've already saved a ton of money and found some excellent quality vendors thanks to the authors' advice. A definite must-buy for the wedding planner!!!
