Summary: A great idea
Review: I loved this book. I first came across the idea of personality types and decorating in Spirit of the Home by Jane Alexander, a UK writer. But while that book was more about the psychology of the home and feng shui and so on, this book is pure decorating! It's great to know there's a reason why you like wild wacky colors while your friends think classic neutrals are the only way to go. A beautiful book and well worth buying.

Summary: Narrow in its range of design choices
Review: I must be looking at a different book than the previous couple of reviewers, because I was disappointed with this book. It doesn't offer much in the way of broad design choices, and the ground it covers regarding decorating for your personality type is better covered in other books. So, the book's topic is nothing new, and its execution leaves a lot to be desired.

Summary: Incredible insight, right on target!
Review: I now have an idea of why I like the things I like and how to continue to create a home that's comfortable for ME. Ms George has described my personality's needs perfectly ...it's as though she's been studying me for years without my knowing it. I was skeptical my decorating style could be defined or explained...now I'm a believer! I'll share this book with friends.

Summary: Great photos and very entertaining!
Review: I really enjoyed reading The Domain Book of Intuitive Home Design. It was fun answering the quiz and discovering more about my own decorating style. It is difficult finding a good book that deals with "determining your decorating style". I have searched through many books, and only a few deal specifically with decorating style. Most books on style focus on a specific style such as Country French, or Shabby Chic, or Cottage. I do not own my own home, but I plan to eventually. This book gave me a head start on choosing my decorating style.The book is organized so well and the sections deal specifically with each personality. This is very helpful and very entertaining. Although my decorating style is Artisan, I read through the other sections about the Visionary, Idealist, and Adventurer. The book even discusses what to do with a "split personality". It also had some good information about dealing with people with different personalities. It is interesting that people can have such different tastes. Thank you for this entertaining reference source.

Summary: Very entertaining and the personality types were right on!
Review: I really enjoyed this book, because as a coworker said yesterday, "Finally, I can explain to people why I like what I like" and "I can't wait to show this book to my husband so he can see how I'd like to decorate our new home- and why." Three co-workers and I took the personality quiz yesterday and I feel the same way. We all appreciated this book, because it really helped explain our individual styles without just labelling each of us simply "formal" or "casual" which explains nothing at all. I'm an Artisan according to the book and I feel that profile fits me perfectly. I can't wait to administer the personality quiz to my husband. Depending on which personality profile he fits, we'll be prepared for disagreements before we start furnishing our future new home! In a nutshell, this book's unique approach to helping people determine their taste and style is fun, entertaining and gives you lots of great decorating ideas. I think it also shows you what not to buy, so you don't waste your money on purchases that don't really fit your style in the first place. We all have pieces of furniture, knick knacks or articles of clothing we hate, never wear or want to get rid of because we know they were a disaster of a purchase in the first place- they just don't fit our style. With this book, you'll be less apt to make the same mistake again!

Everyone wants insight to their own personal style, and Domain is using a different approach. If you liked this book, try "Fabrique Technique" for a different way to coordinate fabrics for your home. Simple, easy to read, with great photos & system in the book.

Summary: A great design book!
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book! After taking the quiz I discovered that I am an Idealist. My fiance took the test and he's an Adventurer. What will we do!! I think what I learnt most from the book is that decorating is fun. The pictures are beautiful and really gave me some great ideas for my home.

Summary: Great place to start for beginers, and very funny read too.
Review: I thought this was a terrific book.The visuals were lush and colorful, full of great ideas and details. It was a welcome relief to read a book about decorating with a sense of humor. I for one am tired of the strict serious point of view we see in most magazines and books. Your home should be an expression of who you are. Read this book and you might gain some insight into your stylistic leanings. It was FUN.

Summary: Pass on this one
Review: I was fascinated by all the reviews that either loved it (five stars) or hated it(one or two stars), so I decided to check it out for myself. After reading it I've come to the conclusion that one of the authors is writing five star reviews. It's impossible to imagine anyone truly interested in decorating would believe that this book is worth the time and money... there's nothing of value.
