Description:

You love your Lab--but do you know what Labs love? Everything, according to this sweetly humorous little book from Ed Camelli and Mike Singer. What Labs Love is the perfect gift for any person or family with a Labrador, and its adorable color photos and amusing text make it a great picture book for dog-loving youngsters as well. Labs are pictured in everyday activities--catching Frisbees, chasing balls, licking faces, and swimming are just a few of the standard favorites that will find you saying, "Oh, remember when our Lab did that?" More unusual circumstances include wearing Easter Bunny ears, sitting in a kayak wearing a life jacket, and heading down a playground slide with a young friend; you may not have seen your pooch in similar situations, but it will be tempting to convince her to try! Camelli's photos capture Labs at their affectionate best, from rolling in the grass to cuddling with a kitten, and Singer's text manages to be both admiring and teasing: what can you say about a picture of a relaxed dog getting his ears scratched being accompanied by "Labs even love a Vulcan mind-meld?" The book is dedicated to a Lad-Lucy, whom the owner credits with "teaching me all about Labrador love." The last two pages of the book are blank frames so you can paste in photos of your own pup. Make sure you keep the book away from your own Lab, unless you think a few teeth marks would be an appropriate addition. --Jill Lightner
