Summary: The best quick craft
Review: I love to do crafts but have very limited time. The Envelope Mill gives instructions for a creative, useful craft project that can be completed within minutes using recycled materials. Based on guidelines in the book, I save magazine covers, ads, and calendars with interesting graphics and make envelopes for cards I create on the computer--saving the cost of the book many times over. The translucent envelope templates provided allow you to easily position each design to best advantage for the size envelope you are creating. I get a great deal of enjoyment from fitting the design to the envelope, and recipients are fascinated with the results.

Summary: Amazingly Fast, Fun, and Cheap!
Review: I was making wonderful cards in five minutes! Now I want to send something to everyone! I even mailed a note to my brother just to show him the envelope! Warning: Once you start, you won't want to stop. Everything you see will look like a great idea for an envelope!

Summary: A real inspiration and thoroughly enjoyable!
Review: It's a real shame that this book is no longer in print, as I was greatly inspired by it to first get into making envelopes and other forms of mail art. The book comes with 3 plastic templates to get you started, but gives some great ideas on how to improvise and create your own custom envelopes. While the concepts are fairly simple and not necessarily ones you need a book for, I really enjoyed seeing the variety of examples and suggestions for creating envelope variations. I'll admit that the content is a bit light in parts, but the examples and templates alone were well worth the investment.

Summary: Creative and practical
Review: The whole book is valuable. The templates are very useable. I made a few from calendars, etc., but then moved on to printing pages on the computer with our scanned photos. Using the templates, I was able to create very special envelopes customized to the recipient. Very rewarding. Thanks to Haila Harvey for sharing her wonderful ideas with us. And thanks to the TV craft show that introduced me to the book.

Summary: I'm going to save you sixteen to twenty dollars
Review: This book presents a great idea, but it can be summed up in nine words: cut, fold and glue attractive papers to make envelopes. The rest of the book is fluff. With this caution, buy the book only if you believe that 3 pieces of traslucent plastic cut in the size and shape of unfolded envelopes, the "templates," are worth the money.

Summary: A creativity churner
Review: This book will have you wanting to write letters just to make envelopes!!!! I absolutely loved it. The instructions are easy to read and the suggestions are wonderful. I recommend this book for kids, teens, grandmothers, everyone.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A bit basic
Review: This is an ok book. If you have envelope templates already then I'd say pass on this book because the text isn't that novel. There just isn't much to it......select a page from a magazine, plop the template down, draw around the shape of the template, cut it out and glue it up. Voila. I'm actually surprised the author was able to turn this topic into a book. It does have a few unique ideas like using special scissors like the deckle edge to cut out the envelope shape. It might be a good book for someone just starting to play around with templates and making envelopes. I was just looking for something for more advanced mail art.
