Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: I am a college student in my twenties, and even though I am not the target audience for this kit, I found it to be a perfect way to recycle my old posters. It takes about 2 minutes to learn how to make the envelopes, and they look great. Clear instructions, nice illustrations, and lots of ideas ensure you'll find plenty of uses for the "Envelope Mill". Buy it if you have creative kids, or would just like to put old posters and magazines to good use. A great idea, perfectly executed. A+
Rating: Summary: I Was Disappointed by the Lack of Creativity... Review: I bought this for my very creative and artistic teenage stepdaughters for Christmas but was disappointed to see how lacking in creativity it was. So much can be done to make envelopes interesting (with the addition of stickers, labels, clip art, artistically placed stamps, etc.) yet the author uses hardly any of these suggestions. We made much more eclectic and visually interesting envelpes ourselves than the ones shown in the book. Some of the author's suggestions were so obvious and boring that we found ourselves laughing at them (for example: use Christmas wrapping paper for Christmas envelopes, a picture of a home for moving notices, heart paper for a Valentine). I will concede that the templates are very useful but you could pretty easily make these yourself by ungluing some envelopes and making your own and I don't think they make this book worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Expected a bit more... Review: I enjoy crafting very much and I write letters like you wouldn't believe. Naturally, when I saw this book I knew that it could hold a lot of neat possibilities for making neat envelopes, greeting cards and the lots of fun projects with and about envelopes I imagined it would hold. When I received it, I loved how the book is shaped like an envelope, thought it was really cute. When I started looking through it however, I noticed that it's basically just one thing and all the book revolves around the same idea. The book could've been a couple of pages long, detail the basics and merely include a legend that said "for variety, use any kind of paper you can imagine" instead of going on and on about it. I imagined it would have more different projects and not the whole book about just using the templates with different materials. Now don't get me wrong, I've used it countless times, always with pretty results and the templates have been really useful. Still, for a whole book about crafted envelopes, I expected more out of it.
Rating: Summary: Addictive Fun Review: I first saw this book on a craft show. I just had to have it! For two months all I did was make envelopes. I made them out of everything and anything. Now my favorite is using old calendars. I even buy calendars from the dollar store to make them.
Rating: Summary: Simple, creative and lots of fun. Review: I found this book very simple to read, folow instructions and do something creative with trash, I loved the pictures this book has great quality. It is refreshing and very inviting, making you feel like you can do anything!. I think the author is great, the templates are very usefull. It was a pleasant surprise. If you like arts and crafts, it is a great choice.
Rating: Summary: A very useful book! Review: I have had The Envelope Mill for several years, and when I pulled it out AGAIN and made envelopes from last year's wall calendar of antique map reproductions, I thought it high time I sang the praises of this marvelous 30-glossy-pages book. It's a great jump-start to creativity -- lots of appealing photos -- and I love the sturdy plastic templates for 3 different sized envelopes for cards and letters. They're clear, so you can move the template around on your paper until you get a pleasing design, then trace around it, cut, fold, glue the flaps, and voila! The author tells how to incorporate photos, make lined envelopes, and even invites you to adjust the template to make custom-sized envelopes. This is a quick-gratification craft for adults, as well as for kids who are old enough to use scissors, and it encourages all of us to send more letters and cards.
Rating: Summary: Delightful! Fun! Gratifying! Environmentally Responsible! Review: I love this book! There's almost instant gratification when whipping up one of these beautiful & interesting creations. A fun project to do with a friend, too. Those that I send envelopes I've made to, rave about my creativity and clever recycling. Several have taken up envelope making themselves.

Rating: Summary: I'm going to save you sixteen to twenty dollars Review: I love to do crafts but have very limited time. The Envelope Mill gives instructions for a creative, useful craft project that can be completed within minutes using recycled materials. Based on guidelines in the book, I save magazine covers, ads, and calendars with interesting graphics and make envelopes for cards I create on the computer--saving the cost of the book many times over. The translucent envelope templates provided allow you to easily position each design to best advantage for the size envelope you are creating. I get a great deal of enjoyment from fitting the design to the envelope, and recipients are fascinated with the results.
