Summary: They came, they saw, they left their mark
Review: Susan Alcock's book provides a useful description of the landscape of Roman Greece. Whilst maybe not the most interesting book for joe public, it is filled with detail that makes it a gem for archaeologists and classicists, as well as those interested in learning more about the subject. Some of Alcock's ideas are interesting and it provides an excellent overview and starting point for the area

Summary: I read, I saw, I fell asleep
Review: This book was definately written for scholars with a clasical archaeology background and ancient historians. It was dreadfully boring to those without that background and knowledge. It is a fair assessment of this time period and the things that occured then, but it was not enough to keep an average reader interested.

Summary: A dog is not a cat...
Review: This volume was groundbreaking in its field of Classical studies and is fundamental reading for professional Classical archaeologists and graduate students.
