Summary: This book looks at history briefly, yet very throuly.
Review: Excellent book. Very informative about history w/o dragging it out. Very good pictures, along w/ 'artifacts',[pictures] such as immigrants' suitcases, Babe Ruth's bat and glove, adds for liquor sales just before Prohibition was put into effect, etc. Well written, interesting, w/ some little known things. [i.e.- invention of ice cream cone]

Summary: I recommend this book for all ages...
Review: I initially bought this book for my Father, who is not big on reading books, and he was very pleased with it. It's informative without being overly boring. With beautiful pictures and facts about things even he didn't know about, this book makes a great visual and written aid for young and old. Events that shaped the Century helped my 10-year-old look at history with fascination instead of dread--I even learned a thing or two. I gave this book a 5 star rating because of the excellent pictures, the chronological lay out of history and the well-written text. By the way, it makes a great Fathers Day gift.
