Summary: a good history text
Review: Of the six history text books I've read in the past year for assorted classes, this one was written the best. It might be difficult for some first year undergraduate students, only because it uses a variety of diction that doesn't always get explained too thoroughly. The only problem I've had with this book has to do with the page gloss that reflects too much light, but that's just a personal preference. Besides the fact that it is a paperback textbook that is nearly $60, this is a decent textbook for renaissance history.
