Rating: Summary: If it's true- We're in trouble! Review: Barry Chamish's book will definently shock you. No matter what your own political views are, the facts brought in his book arise many questions. Personally, I disagree with his conclusion, and think he might be just a bit paranoid. But that does not mean he is totaly wrong. There are solid facts in his book that only a blind man or one who wishes to ignore the truth would over-look. Read the book with an open mind. You might find it distrbing- and so you should! As the x-files would say:"The Truth is Out There..:" Enjoy
Rating: Summary: Barry is great Review: Excellent, really surprising of the evidence that existed and discovered by Barry Chamish. One day Barry will be a household name among any body interested in history, Israel or even investigative reporting.
Rating: Summary: excellent book - a must to read! Review: I actually read the Russian translation of this book (as I was unable to get hold of the English edition), which was amended after the English version got out. And the final chain of facts and events looks very convincing. It is obvious that in Israel they simply don't want to see the truth - there are TOO MANY facts in this book which scream that Rabin was not killed by Igal Amir, but by somebody else. In the Ben Gurion airport they (security agents) usually subject you to a (possible) humiliating search and questioning during departure, so one wonders - why don't they stop chasing shadows in the airport and look behind and do something about this murder!
Rating: Summary: I read it. Do I believe it? I'm not sure...It hurts! Review: I read it. Do I believe it? I'm not sure, but the fact that I have a doubt is cause enough for worry and I think that the book has succeeded in convincing you that there is a doubt. It's scary stuff if viewed as fiction, but for someone that is open-minded, it can be a nightmare...Could such a thing happen in a modern democratic country? Especially, Israel???? It hurts!
Rating: Summary: An amazing document of true investigative journalism Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and can appreciate the trouble and danger that the author and his sources are subject to. I highly recommend reading this book, learn for yourself about the corruption in Israel that spreads like a cancer through the entire political spectrum, and even infects the so-called "jewish" organisations that influence jewish opinions in America, all for the benefit of israeli politicians - at the expence of the people. An eye opener for the un-initiated, Barry Chamish has uncovered a nasty secret, and is constantly rattling the skeletons in the closets of Israeli movers and shakers. He is on par with other great reporters who exposed israeli corruption, such as Uri Avneri and Ben Hecht.
Rating: Summary: "journalism" for the paranoid. Review: I've read this book and have to say that it's VERY weak. The author repeats oft heard conspiracy theories popular in the Israeli extreme right wing. The book is full of factual mistakes and "anonymous" sources. Most of the "sources" are skewd and taken out of all reasonable context. By the way, the book was not banned in Isreal: The author could not find a publisher or distributer to publish his book, so he turned to The current publisher (Feral House) which specializes in bizzare conspiracy books. So draw your own conclusions...
Rating: Summary: String of persuasive facts hurt by disjointed presentation. Review: The book presents a string of assertions but misses making a coherent argument. It almost seems like it was written as a stream-of-consciousness or as a speech instead of as a thesis to be proven. The facts may be good and I think most are, but it is a frustrating book to follow. Averaging facts (5 stars) and presentation (2 stars), I'd give this book 3.5 stars, but the presentation flaws are so deep that I couldn't round up to 4 and must round down to 3 stars. The last time I reacted to such a presentation like this was with Oliver Stone's movie JFK, which I shut off after 10 minutes and returned to months later having prepared myself for a conspiracy-theorist's onslaught. It is a propagandist's style more suitable for the popular shoutfests like Israeli television's Popolitika or the US's McLaughlin Group. I plan to return to complete the book someday while carrying a large grain of salt. I am not refuting the facts presented in the book, but I think readers should be forwarned that it is not a dispassionate presentation.
Rating: Summary: Very disturbing! Review: The facts presented by Chamish are overwhelming. It becomes quite clear that the truth about Rabin's assassination has been twisted into fiction for digestion by the masses. Kudos to Chamish for this brave piece of work!
Rating: Summary: Eye opener for the politically concerned but naive. Wow!!! Review: The night of the Rabin Assasination, disjointed factoids that appeared in all of the media led me immediately to conclude that the character assassination of the then accused murderer and the left's political machine smear of both the rightwing and the observant sector of the nation smelled of conspiracy and collaboration at the highest levels. Barry Chamish finds the loose ends, inconsistencies, contradictory testimony and evidence that abound regarding the assassination. My only regret is that while he presents the facts that clearly spell conspiracy, he doesn't come to a conclusion about who he suspects or knows is guilty of the actual murder. The book is explosive. I couldn't put it down. This and the book The Secret War Against the Jews are musts for people who want to really know all news fit to print and not what the powers that be want us to see. I'm ordering Barry's other books immediately. You should too. These are musts !!!
Rating: Summary: A disturbing look at the Rabin assassination... Review: This book gives the reader an inside look into an alternative theory of the Rabin assassination. While most of the book is believable, the author admits to using unnamed sources for certain parts of the book which drains some credibility from his theory. Regardless, the book does give a detailed examination of both the official and alternative theories of the Rabin assassination. If you are interested in Israeli politics, this book is a must read.
