Review: This excellent book by Osprey Aviation details the beginnings of the B-17 units of the U. S. Eighth Air Force in England during World War 2 until the war's end. Liberally illustrated with photos, line drawings, and paintings, it also provides a partial Bomb Group Assignment chart, numerous personal anecdotes, and follows the careers of many celebrated fortresses.

A nice section on nose art examples rounds out a worthy tribute to this fine aircraft and the men that flew in it.
