Summary: Wrapped up in a neat little package
Review: I am a fan of the archaic period myself, and i find this little book an excellent guide to start off on the subject. the pictures are actually helpful and for people like me who cannot afford to go to digs, it maps out some of the earliest findings, there are some sketches of early gylphs etc.
my favorite thing about this is that its small enough to take wherever unlike other academic texts. This is perfect bus reading material to take with you on the way to class or work. I also enjoy the fact that this text is not dry (yay!) and often can spark my interest in this subject again when i feel that im all "sdm.f'' 'd out ( a joke for other hiero-studying folk).
Good things do come in small packages.
